Sun Cream - Does it have a best before date?

    Hi Ladies,

    I couldn't find a suitable forum to ask this question and because you ladies like to use a world of creams and crap I thought you might be suitably qualified to answer my question.

    Does Nivea Suncream have a use by date / best before date?

    There is none on the bottle that I can find and I don't remember when I bought it although it could be last year.

    It wont have a date but it will have a lil carton open like symbol with either 6, 12, 18 or 24 beside it and that means it can only be used 6, 12, 18 or 24 months after opening!!!

    Mascara for example is 6months, suncream is generally 12 months and YES IT DOES GO OFF!!! It is not effective when its gone off!!!

    I see it now. It is a picture of a tub with the top off and 12 written next to it.

    Gone off by now I'd say. To the bin with it.

    No probs :D You will get sunburnt (or ed not sure) if you use it but it is a good moisturiser if you don't want to bin it :D

    I wont bother. Into the bin with it just to be safe.

    It will give my OH an excuse to browse the Avon catalogue anyway.

    Has it actually been opened? If not then it's probably okay to use, but if it has then I'd definitely bin it. Better safe than sorry :)

    Doh sorry should have said that - the lil symbol is 6, 12, 18, 24 months from opening, that is why there is not expiry date as it doens't start to go off until it has been exposed to air!!! Sorry

    You can get it cheaper in Tesco and Lidl, and does the job just as well!

    I thought that meant the length of time the container should last. :confused:

    Australian suncream is supposed to be the best because of their massive research into skincare.

    I use baby suncream because I burn like nobody's business so I figure regular, liberal applications of factor 50 should help to some degree.

    i generally use a crazy high factor made for kids because i burn so easily,so far so good:)inly person i know that hasnt been burned yet!
