One of Ireland's most celebrated actors will be among Ryan Tubridy's guests on 'The Late Late Show' tonight on RTÉ One.
David Kelly will be talking about his career on stage and screen which spans over six decades.
Also among the guests tonight will be Ireland rugby player Tommy Bowe.
Music will be provided by Crystal Swing, Katie Melua and Court Yard Hounds.

David Kelly is a good actor, he was in loads of things.He was in the film waking Ned about a syndicate who won the lotto it is very funny, also he was in an episode of fawlty towers he was the builder:D

I wouldn't wish that now, it's a bit extreme on the families of those who'd be in the buliding. Maybe Ryan could have some sort of medical episode during the summer where he loses the ability to speak. He stays alive but we don't have to listen to him anymore. Everyone wins.

Have to agree, apart from the “do you drink too much?” question, it has been pure banality all season.

The LLS was once a ground breaking show covering all aspects of life in Ireland, now it’s been dumbed down, it’s a glorified “infommercial”

I know Kenny was brutal at the fluffy interviews but he could chair a good debate, that made up for the z listers imo.

Now all we have is the fluff. I, for one, have had enough of celebrity bullsh1t. I think it’s time they put an end to it.

P.S. I don’t believe the crap about ratings, I don’t think it can be properly quantified.

Thats certainly true, I'd love to know Tubbers private summation of his first series, he obviously knew the LLS is long way from the show that ruled Ireland in the 60s, 70s & 80s but I'm also guessing he wasn't expecting the pickings to be as thin as he is. I dunno what the ratings are like, prolly still good as people are creatures of habit and will stick with what they know even if they don't much like it (witness this thread every Friday like clockwork).

They have to do some serious work on it either way cos at some point the penny will drop and the viewer will just say "this isn't ever going to get any better is it?" and stick on something else.

Absolutely appalling series. Few if any guests worth watching and Tubs is a poor interviewer. How are the ratings holding up?

Oh, and while asking Cowen about the drink was the series big moment it was a disgraceful question to ask a Taoiseach on a chat show, imo. No respect for the office. Not that Cowen has shown it much respect either mind but I thought it was a cheap shot. Could be argued that it's a relevant question but it left a bad taste in my mouth. He was trying to put down a marker that he can handle the current affairs stuff but the whole interview was a shambles. What's the point in having someone on if you don't even let them answer the questions you ask?

Jesus, the one week that I would be interested in a Boyzone interview and they are NOT on..

I always find David Kelly a boring interviewee, I wish he could just come on in character as O'Reilly the builder.
