^ promos/info etc. - any predictions on this show?...will it go the way of The Beautiful Life?, my gut feeling is..........no, The CW will broadcast all 13 eps.
The basic premise, having Tisdale + basically a tv version of Bring It On i think will draw in the tweenies.

BUT....i think alot has to do with general high brow hatred for The CW in general and Dawn Ostroff (the woman who cancelled Veronica Mars wounds deep), i take a more pragmatic approach.

First of all this is typical CW fare, with being a basically tv version of Bring It On (which is popular with girls...which is the CW target demo) + two Disney stars i think i has a fair crack at getting at least a full season, if not two.

Tisdale has a mountian of Twittering tweenies, as does Aly, it won't win any awards and i doubt it'll be a ratings monster....but if it gets around 2 million + the key demos i think it'll just do enough to warrant renewal or a back 9, i don't think it'll meet The Beautiful Life's end and be pulled after two episodes.

Cost wise it's alot less to make the TBL, it has a pretty though time slot, but again it dosen't need to do gangbusters to survive.

So i'll watch it, i don't expect much...but i'm open to the idea of Tisdale been thrown in the air :-)

I think it'll get a 1.3-1.5 W18-34 and 2.3-2.5 million viewers, but...it may drop off dramatically after the pilot.

So i watchd the pilot, twice....i'm not gonna over sell this one, it's very "on brand" for The CW, it's the tv version of Briing It On, there was nothing new or unique about it. One thing that disappointed was the cheerleader routines....not very inspiring or exciting, i did like the catfight between Marti and Savannah.

Few attempts at humour fell flat, i also think Tisdale is channeling Lea Michelle, aka Rachel from Glee, in her role. The girls are pretty hot, the outfits are micro and sexy, but there is just nothing standout or original in it, it's just the pilot so maybe it improves?

Would i recomend it?...to your average Boardsie....no, if you're a perky tween?...why not!, look...it's aimed at a specifc demographic, it's not high brow, it is what it is.

Will i continue to watch?....yeah i'll give it a few more eps. to see if it improves, but it's not something i'm excited about and *must* see, i'll be interested to see how it does in the ratings...half the fun is seeing which shows will get axed :-)

I thought episode 2 was a bit better, we get to see the cheerios perform, flip and spin....much needed, these parts definately reminded me of Glee....in fact, moreso in this episode did i think Tisdale was copying Rachel from Glee, the dialogue and delivery, the facial expressions.

But MAJOR continuity issues i saw, a VERY bad edit when Marti is talking to her mom about getting kicked out, like scene was inserted or a retake but they didn't shoot the same angle. Even bigger was the opening where they perform in the auditorium, at the end of ep. 1 it was a two level auditorium, in the second ep. it was a 1 level gym!

Do they think we are blind?...overall a bit better.

Strong episode last night, very enjoyable...my opinion on this show is rapidly changing from meh to...hey it's quite good!
They had a long street dancing scene that was just ace!, it reminded me soo much of Step Up, Gale Harold was very good....they did a nice nod to Star Trek and Koybioshi Maru scenario, it was well interjected.

I liked this ep. alot more, it had real substance and less fluff. Fans are liking it as well:

Final ratings, while somewhat down, the numbers are better then everything save TVD and Nikita...as such i think this is almost guaranteed a full 22 episode order:

The CW gives more love to 'Hellcats' and 'One Tree Hill'

The CW has ordered six additional scripts of both newbie "Hellcats" and vet "One Tree Hill" (which had been given just a 13-episode renewal).

It's not quite a back nine, but the CW is giving some hope to fans of both shows that full season orders are on the way.

In ordering those scripts the See-Dub notes that "Hellcats" managed to hold up well on Wednesday night against tough competish, remaining flat week-to-week in the netlet's target women 18-34 demo. "Hellcats" is also retaining a solid 86% of "America's Next Top Model."

And "One Tree Hill" also remains a decent player for the CW in season eight, the network said.

I think the show is a little naff! I cringe when Ashley Tisdale opens her mouth.
I'm not sure yet, I might give it a little while longer as they've introduced the 'law study' side a bit more. I also think that the girl playing the part of Marti is not a natural looking dancer. She looks out of place in the hellcats dance sequences.... I think she might be too tall! Anyway, I think it definitely falls into the teen category!

Ratings held up pretty well for episode 3, which wasn't that bad an ep. - lovin' Savannah and Dan. Teryl Rothery is doing a bang up job as Savannah's uber religious Christian mom, she even does the old southern accent!

I really liked last nights ep. - some clever and witty dialogue. Those flyers they have on the cheerleading squad are amazing!, the height they get thrown, the mid air spinning. I'm also liking the subplot of the cheer coach and her doctor BF...these two SHOULD have been cast for Undercovers!

As the show has gone on it has shown more depth, clever witing, and not being Bring It On the tv series.

I'm not liking Lewis and Marti as a couple and I've yet to see any genuine chemistry between Dan and Savannah whereas Marti and Dan have great chemistry.

^ well last nights ep. clearly hinted at Marti and Dan being more then just friends, i'm not keen on Lewis and Marti either, but Lewis seems like a good guy and straight shooter.

Think Savannah will get really hurt by Dan, bless her...it's nice to see Tisdale play a likable character.

^ yep...they are trying to fight it but Team Marti/Dan is now a go!, poor Savannah once again will get hurt by both of them, i do love the dynamic of Savannah and her mother, again great stuff from Teryl Rothery (also from Stargate!).

As a side note, has anyone copped the amount of BSG, Caprica and Stargate actors on this show!!

Madga Apanowicz showed up last night, barely recognised her with makeup on!, Aaron Douglas from BSG, and also last night McKay from Stargate Atlantis!

They are all Canadian so it makes sense + Kevin Murphy who's heavily involved in Caprica, solid ep. last night...loved Savannah in the cute 'n sexy Memphis Christian outfit, nice routine they did. Charlotte is preggers?....won't be long before Marti and Dan jump into bed, chemistry!

MTV has announced that it will broadcast the cheerleading series Hellcats in the UK.

The drama, which premiered in the US in September, features Aly Michalka as a law student called Marti.

Marti is forced to join her college's cheerleading squad to get a scholarship when she discovers that she is behind with her tuition fee payments.

The cast also includes High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale, who plays the cheerleading team's captain Savannah.

Hellcats will premiere on MTV in February 2011.

Another enoyable ep. - loved the country and western scenes, dancing scenes were great, it does seem this banged up inmate plotline leads back to the university guy, they seem to be going somewhere with that and it's not just some random plot thrown in. Savannah got shafted again...bless her!, lovin' Savannah and liking her sis.

Overall i'm enjoying the show alot :-)

Oh!..flasback episode!!...pretty good, Savanah with blonde hair??....eek!, this plotline with the Lancer coverup is coming to ahead now, looks as if it'll warp up next week....least they are doing something a bit different with Hellcats and this kinda storyline.

My guess is CW told them to wrap it up, we'll see how AJ does with her sister on the show.
