History 2010 Predictions

These are HL only, sorry OL people.

    My teacher's predictions:

    Q4 - A:

    - Archaeologist OR Ancient Ireland
    - Medieval (Any of these: Lord, Lady, Knight, Monk, Craftsman)
    - Reformer

    Q4 - B:

    - Plantations
    - War Of Independence
    - Cold War

    Q5:

    Age Of Explorations (90% sure.)

They're the only things that you can predict really. Question 1, 2 & 3 are easy enough anyway and Question 6 always has the same format:

    6A - 1st/2nd year
6B/C/D - Social Change/Irish History/World War II/International Relations Post WWII (Any three of those four!)

Remember, these are just guesses based on what came up in previous years! You should still study everything, just know these well! :p

Complete cobblers, unless these 'teachers who always get it right' are somehow involved in the setting or drafting process, in which case, if they are giving out information contrary to the legal assurances they gave about confidentiality, they won't be setting/drafting again (at a minimum).

I so want those and/or the industrial revolution to come up in Q4. If they do I'm sorted!

Id rather cold war to come up in q6 D, without a doubt there will be something on the cold war...in late 2009 it was the anniversary(20th) of fall of the berlin wall and that was around the time the paper was written....reformer would be great/revolutionary leader/worker in a factory :D

Yeah, think so but don't worry. You don't need a teacher to do it with you, just read over it and learn the information. :)

not necessarily, maybe for a few short questions (not many, around 2) but i HIGHLY doubt they would ever put it up as q 5 as not everyone does Northern Ireland as it's a choice, my teacher didn't do it with us!

Em my teacher says Reformation will come up in Q4 or Q6 as it comes up every 4/5 years in those parts
And he said exactly the rest as you said =]

Reformation came up in question six last year/year before so it's unlikely to come up there.

nope in question 6 part b, c and d usually (if not always) stays the same. part A is usually always different so it could come up, not certain!

I'm standing by the OP here, but Indust. Rev. Q5 is looking increasingly likely as opposed to Explorations. A number of mocks papers have done either Indust or Explorations. Could go either way. Whichever is NOT Q5 will probably be Q6A or B. Q6B does not HAVE to be Social Change, so knowing Ind Rev and Explorations might be the key to success this year.

by "war of independance" do u mean a revolutionary leader, like wolfe tone?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 387 ✭✭Isotonic

no. War of independence is Ireland's struggle for freedom from British rule. Black and tans, Micheal Collins etc

yeah, but its in the people in history question, so it must mean the leader, ie: wolfe tone?

well firstly Wolfe Tone has nothing to do with the War of Independence, and secondly one of the mocks had an account of a Black and Tan in the people in history question...basically you'd just have to recount the events of the War of Independence and everything that led up to it and resulted from it from the point of view of a British person :L

Just to clarify for you: Wolfe Tone led the 1798 Rebellion, whereas the War of Independence related to events between 1919 and 1921...

no not necessarily. Could be phrased as "a member of Micheal Collins squad " " a black and tan in Ireland" etc
