Two nice new studies showing low carb kicking low fat's ass (again). The difference in weight loss in the first one wasn't statistically significant but low carb lowered fasting insulin and improve blood sugar levels much better than low fat.

The low fat people were also taking orlistat (known as Alli here).

The second one is even better:

In this one the difference in weight loss is quite large (0.99kg vs 5.8kg for LC) even though the low fat group had to restrict calories and the low carb group ate as much as they wanted.

I'd really love to see a study that compared like with like, as in ad-libitum calories for each group, but as far as I know this hasn't been done.
