Anybody else having problems getting through to a1 waste?
I know they were on the news on Friday but I'm wondering now if the business is gone? And if so what will i do with the full skip in my driveway?

    Thanks

    I'm in the same boat.
Spoke to a security Guard who had been told to tell people to call back Wednesday.

I paid by Laser . Is there any way I can get my money back

you might want to take your laser query over to the consumer issue forum.

    but sounds awful.

    Or call your bank/card supplier?

I called the Bank . They said because A1 took the payment I would have to chase the company :(

so the skip could just become the new garden feature - lets see what happens on Wednesday.

i am sure if they go bust ........ ring another skip company. they will be happy for the free skip!!

I filled in the online request for a mini skip to be collected. It accepted & sent a reply that it will be collected in 2 days.
I'll report back if the skip disappears.

I have a yellow bag filled out the front. Anyone know what other company will collect it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭emmiou

I saw this "We collect any skip bag, Competitions skipbags lifted from € 39, depending on size of bag & location" on the website for another skip bag company (Skipbags.ie) but I haven't contaced them - I've already paid for collection by laser so I'm going to hold on a few more days.

I also have a full A1 standard skip bag ready for collection, cost me €100 up front,..I contacted the company below & they will take A1 bags away but they will need paying also,...:(

Thanks for the advice lensman and everybody else. I was the second bloke who spoke on Liveline today. What's worrying me is that competitors will collect "Bags". No mention of "Skips". I'm getting funny looks from my neighbours.

The phone message has changed - "normal service will resume at 8 am in the morning"

    Lets hope so!

going forward I would only use the bags,..at least your not lumbered with a hugh metal box in your driveway.,..the larger bags hold just as much as a standard skip.

Things sound a little more possitive now. Wonder will Joe Duffy be covering it again today? In fact, I'll be considering hiring a "Removal Company" in future rather than a Skip. :)

I certainly will not be availing of their prepay service again.
