    Hello,

I've been lurking around these forums for quite some time now, only an occasional poster. I just wanted to ask about the 'Nakd Bars' that are mentioned here a lot. I've been eating the Coca ones recently when I'm on the go, looking for something filling and haven't had a chance to prepare anything else in advance. I know they must be fairly high in sugar with all the dried fruit in them, and I try to opt for plain nuts with plain natural low-fat yogurt/fruit when I can, but sometimes they are just so handy. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm just fooling myself into believing these bars to be healthy? I can't get hold of the small ones in Limerick, and I usually end up eating all of the big 60g bar once I open it >_<

They are quite high in sugar thanks to dates been ingredient no.1. You can get the 35gm bars in the health shop in cresent.

It's a little catch 22 - in one sense they are the best of a bad bunch but i would much prefer to put them in my body rather than other processed crap, at least with these there's nothing other than oats/dried fruit/nuts

Just don't go overboard ... because they are so yummy it really is easy!

Holland and Barrott or Nature's Hand (or whatever it's called now :P)? Thanks for that, I'll be heading in some day this week to grab a few. Don't suppose how many grams of sugar per bar, do you? It only lists carbs on the packet.
I suppose, as you say, moderation is the key.

From their website it says 25g of sugar for each 68g bar, so not all that much better than a normal milk-chocolate bar in the health stakes.

I think you'd be better off going to Tesco or a health food shop and make up small bags of mixed nuts and maybe some fresh fruit instead of the dried ones which seem to be loaded with sugar. I have tried the apple and cinnamon Nakd bar which was hideous, the spices were really over-powering. I also had the strawberry one which was marginally better but for the price of them and the size of them, they are a total rip off. Go with fresh fruit like banana's which are easy to carry around. Ten times better in taste and value for money!
