    Hi,

I'm currently in 5th year in a south Dublin school, with his heart set on teaching Maths.

I've been passionate about aircraft and aviation since I was in a pram. I would love to be a Maths teacher but would LOVE to do the Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical) in UL. I've had numerous looks at the Teaching Council's list of recognized qualifications and I've nothing, except a lot of Engineering courses from various other institutions allow you to teach Maths and Applied Maths and so forth. I'm wondering if this also allows graduates of the Aeronautical Engineering course to teach Maths and Applied Maths, and has anyone tried this and been successful. Any help or insight would be greatly greatly appreciated!

    Michael

I wouldn't presume that any of the Engineering degrees on the list allow you to qualify as a Maths teacher. It has come out recently that the TC no longer recognise some Engineering degrees. Have a look at this thread.

Having said that, the TC will have a look at any degree to see if they recognise it for a fee so that might be worth looking into.
