Ladies when you are going out with your friends to a bar what is it you look for in your favorite bars? Comfortable couches, open spaces, enclosed heated smoking areas, cocktail specials?

What is it about your favorite bar that makes it your favorite?

I would prefer going to a restaurant, having a couple bottles of wine and a good old laugh/chat. After that maybe a bar but would prefer to end up back at one of the girls houses (or mine but I'm the only one who is married with kids) and having another bottle of wine and a good old laugh/chat. Love cocktails, i find i cant hear anyone in a bar because the music is too loud and im half deaf.

Usually somewhere not too packed but still has a good buzz about the place, music (but not so loud that you have to shout at one another), reasonably priced drink and a bit of talent doesnt go astray either ;)

My friends and I tend to get stuck in the oul Fibbers rut, not the best place for a girls night out! More of the "attract crazy people because we're a bunch of women" night out.

The Dandelion is a great spot though, so is Porterhouse for a few cocktails and a spot of dancings. I'm pretty easy about where to go once the drink is flowing and there's eye candy :pac:

our girls nights out are usually drinks & chats in someones house and then out to a club for a dance, or dinner & wine and falling asleep before leaving the restaurant (). unfortunately lately there seems to be a lot more of the tiredness all round.. theyre 25/26!

Since you're asking about what I like when I go out instead of what I prefer to do...:p

I like a bar, a typical bar with nice booths and/or tables, none of that neon, modern techy look...somewhere where I feel comfortable not an ornamount. A bar that does good, reasonably priced cocktails/drinks...somewhere that attracts a youngish college crowd as well. I'm not a smoker, but I know some of my friends prefer the heated enclosed ones as opposed to outside, since Irish weather is SO unpredicatable :D But, depending on loacation both would be good :)

Space wise, openish...just don't want to feel on top of people :)Music - A mix of everything and being a bar, louid so you can eventually boogie, but not I-need-to-shout-so-you-can-hear-my-every-syllable :p

I like big, roomy smoking areas with plenty of seating. I prefer smoking areas to inside usually. If I'm inside, I'm there for a chat and a drink, not to listen to shít music at an ear-splitting volume. Music is grand, as long as I can talk easily over it and it's not too irritating. A decent white wine available is good, by the glass or else a bottle for a decent price.

When I go out with the girls, we generally look for somewhere
with good music and seating, Hopefully not to crowded then clubbing
    or out for dinner.

ladies i wouldn't invade your area just to find out where to pick up women. I'll give my reason for asking the question after a few more opinions. Thanks.

The reason I was asking is a friend of mine is taking over the lease for a bar and the golden rule these days is to get the girls in and keep them coming back and the money will follow. Thanks for your answers.

It would be helpful if you could pick your favorite pub in Dublin so he could have a look and see what is the attraction.
