Buying Weights

    I'd have a look on www.adverts.ie

Some will say to go to irishlifting but to get some decent weights for starting out you should be able to pick up cheap equipment on adverts. Look out for a bench, dumbells a barbell and iron weights (probably at least 60kg).

With that you can pretty much do everything except proper squats but theres various variations you could do with dumbells and the barbell to keep you going.

With the dumbells alone that your looking at there'd only be a limited amount of stuff you could do.

not really .. just avoid those gold coloured plastic disc dumbells.
Get either body sculpture or york metal discs :-)

There heaps of stuff to do at home. Press ups, dips and supine rows

Those weights look fine. You might out grow them quicker than you think though.

What are you trying to achieve anyway?

15kg worth of dumbells aren't going to get you far to be honest in my opinion. I'd look at getting at minimum double that. Their also nearly 50 euro inc. delivery. Heres a couple of quick links from adverts. Much better value:

http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=217216&cat=208 (although the weights are the plastic sand weights)

    http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=222120&cat=208 (20kg dumbells probably get for €30)

I know what ya mean, id be getting the 20kg rather than the 15kg. As to what im tryin to achieve, hard to say, just want a starting point, get into a routine and then buy extras as i go along, bigger weights etc as currently i have no weights at home.

Yeah could work as a starting point. Would be handy if you could pick up a plain bench too. Something like this even just so you have more options in exercises you can do. A kitchen chair or something could be used otherwise for some things at least

Heres a link to a lot of good exercises that can be done with dumbells.

you'll want more than 20kg to start with, so if you are going to buy those dumbbells, pick up four 5kg plates at the same time
