    Is a 500g carton of low fat Onken yogurt and a cup of black coffee a sufficient breakfast?

    For what?
    How hard are you working/excercising/thinking?
    Differnet activities require different nutrients and differnt energy amounts.

    Just general health, is it a good start to the day? I usually find it keeps the hunger at bay till lunch time but a work colleauge was saying I shouldn't be eating that much yogurt.

    I have a desk based job. I go to the gym three times a week, round of golf at the weekend. Nothing too exerting.

    Yogurt is pretty dense, so 500g isn't as huge as it sounds, a decent sized "normal" tub is about 200g.

    The low fat variety is v.low in cals. 500g is around 275 cals, which wouldn't be a a big BF by any means.
    FYI it is around 25g protein, 40g carbs

    I personally wouldnt eat youghurt as it doenst fill me up and tends to be full of sugar.
    If you're going to the gym 3 days a week i reckon you could do with more protein and a more substantial breakfast too.
    How about a bowl of porridge and a couple of eggs scrambled,maybe a peice of toast every couple of days.

    Is it the plain natural yoghurt? The flavoured ones are jammed with sugar, they have about 75g per pot.

    Unrelated but if you put a pot o the peach and grain Onken in front of me now it'd be gone in 4.3seconds or so. Lovely stuff.

    I don't know why anyone would eat only yoghurt for breakfast but each to their own. Why not chop some fruit and pour slightly less yoghurt over it?

    Is that peach and grain one loaded with sugar? I see it's in Tesco on promo for only a €1.

    I'm in that place nearly every day..the yokes you're talking about wont be near the yoghurt displays..they usually head for the chocolate then the budweiser.

    I know you're going to say some of that sugar is from the fruit but when its processed fruit it doesn't really matter, that's still alot of sugar.

    i would second the addition of seeds, nuts etc but it really depends on your goals.

    its a bloody big tub to have if you are looking to drop body fat and i would not go for any flavoured yogurt as they all tend to bang a ton of sugar into them

    The fat free strawberry has about 37g sugar per tub.
    Plus a tub is more than a serving.
    OP maybe, have half a tub (of the low fat), with some seeds, and an eggs.
    Same cals, but more rounded

    OK well the consensus here seems to be that half a tub would be enough and that I should throw in some fruit and seeds.

    I normally pick up whatever berries are on promo in Tesco/M&S.

    What seeds would be good to throw in?
