Never really sniped much , if i ever needed to it was with the intervention , Started the other day with the barrett (sleight of hand, sp and steady aim) and i have to say i enjoyed it .
Just not too sure which attachment i prefer i.e ordinary scope/acog or thermal.
Which attachment do you prefer ?

Dislike the ACOG, so it would be regular or thermal

Thermal on every level I snipe bar Derailed, though I don't really snipe there anymore.

While i did use those classes to get a couple of nukes , i'm not the type of sniper who stays still for very long , plus when i shoot someone i'd like them to go down on the first attempt, steady aim is a must as well i as i do run around a bit with the sniper rifle.

I don't quick-scope , I don't run round the map as I would with an assult rifle . When I'm sniping , I snipe as a real sniper would do ..........be as far away from the enemy as possible . That way if I need to take 2 bullets to kill I have plenty of time for the second ;) You'll be suprised just how many one shot kills you'll get with thermal .
I snipe on wasteland/agfan/estate .........I think cold-blooded is vital as it lets you build your own killstreak without having to worry about enemy air support

Intervention w/ Thermal on every map bar derail/rust. Often switch between sniping and assault depending on how the games going. Play Demolition almost exclusively.

Why would the thermal affect whether you get OSK's or not? Do you mean you get more headshots, or that when you link it with Cold-blooded instead of Stopping power?

I doubt its that anyway ........I really don't know like I just played there on overgrown . Got a pavelow and every kill was a one shot kill . (6 kills) out of those 6 Id say atleast 4 if not 5 of the lads I was shooting at were standing still as they were other snipers I'd say. I think you only need stopping power if youre gonna be quick-scoping .

Don't know how anyone can snipe without sleight of hand pro tbh, the downscope time is soo much slower.

Thermal is probably better for hardscoping when you are closer to your enemy but the regular scope has more range and is better for quickscopes and is much greater than the thermal imo. Thermal is better for inexperienced players I'd say though as it's much easier to see people with it and it's a great advantage to see your enemy before they see you when you haven't learned how to be evasive yet.

Went sniping on afgan last night , got 24 kills(no killstreak) in about 2 minutes with thermal, 4 guys on the opposite team were just determined to get me even when they switched to cold-blooded they were no problem to see.

I do prefer just the normal scope soh /sp and steady aim , tryed cold-blooded but too many 2 -shot kills .

I know I should have put a disclaimer in it! But I don't see how you can complain if they kill with a quick-scope or no-scope

Not all quick-scopers are sh1t but I'd agree if you have a load of them on your team who can't quick-scope but are just trying to show off, that is annoying!

Why setup with a sniper rifle if you rob the first assault rifle you come across?

Sorry. I understood that he meant he swapped his Snippy rifle for an Assault rifle. You're probably right though.

is there an added advantage to using SOH pro when your sniping or is it just common for most players to fly through their magazines ? i normally use scavanger pro in its place i hate running low on ammo

ah i wouldnt say im wasting my time now ive been doing ok without so far but sure cant hurt to see if it makes a difference . but im no good at using it like an assault rifle it would have to help ranged shooting . ill give it a swing if i ever get out of work tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,686 ✭✭✭Kersmash

I can't comprehend how people snipe without SoH. I've a mate who snipes using Bling. To each their own I guess and it really seems to work for him. I'd be lost without it however. Seems to take an eternity to ADS now after using it for so long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,122 ✭✭✭sierra117x

well you where right i was wasting my time lol. tried it out last night was ok before but was gettin some sweet kills last nyt using it makes such a big difference

    M21 EBR Silenced + Thermal
    G18 Silenced + E/Mags
Bling pro/ Clod Blooded pro/ SitRep pro
    Claymore + Smoke

My only sniper class and it is only for S&D on Wastelands. Pure stealth set up and allows me to take the time for the Headshot (only way for me to get a OHK). Picked the M21 over the others based on the difficulty to pinpoint it based on sound.
