Sports link - price changing every time I go!

Hey guys, wasn't sure where to put this so thought I'd post it here :p

My mate gave me their membership for Sports link in Santry. It's the one where you pay as you go. I've been 4 times this week, and have been charged different prices each time! The first time, I was charged 4.50 for the gym. The very next day, at the same time, I was charged 4. The next day, I was charged 3 for a swim (again, same time, I got at the same time each day) and yesterday (at the same time), I was charged 6 for a swim!

I have emailed them asking about their prices but got no response, and have checked out their website for details on "peak" times and prices, but I've gone at the same time every day and have been charged differently each day, as has my friend who has been coming with me.

I'm considering calling them but I don't want to buy credit when I'm broke :p Anyone know if there are peak times, and what the actual prices are? This is annoying me. I have no problem paying 6 if that's what the charge is, but I've been charged less than that on the majority of times I've gone. I can't find information on their peak times and prices anywhere!

Council gyms up here do a lunch time special form 12 to 4pm. After that it's a tenner or something.

You've no right to be annoying considering you're not bothered to buy an actual membership. Using your mates' one is bang out of order, tbh.

He said it was a pay as you go membership?! Prob a fee up front and pay each time you use it, they couldn't be losing too much money, especially if his mate isn't using it at all!

No, you pay an annual "subscription" and then 3/4 quid for the gym PAYG.

I was a member for about 6 years. The lads who were getting in using their mates cards treated the place like ****.

Firstly I'm not a guy, I'm posting from my bf's account.

Secondly, I'm sorry if guys leave the place in a state in your gym but I never have and never will wreck a gym. My friend wasn't using it, had paid the one off subscription fee, so they would have made nothing aside from the €115 she originally paid. I go about 3 times a week, which is making them an average of €13.50 per week, which adds up to about €700 a year. €700 that they would never have received had she not given the membership to me.

Now please, tell me what harm I'm doing to the gym by PAYING to use it?

Also, I have every right to be annoyed. Like I ALREADY stated, I have no problem paying the €6 each time I go, once I KNOW what to expect to pay, which is why I asked does anyone know of their peak/off peak prices and times. I didn't ask people to console me or talk about what pr*cks Sportslink are, because they're not.

So please, take your personal issues out of my thread or I'll just ask a moderator to do it.

€115 + €700 holy moly () You sure this is a gym you're going to? Not a cassino.

It's a pay as you go gym membership. Works out great if you don't use the gym much, but obviously if you're going to use it frequently you'd be better with a different gym or paying a full subscription. I don't have several hundred euro upfront though, so this works out better for me

Damn, too late for a saucer of milk gag.

With all the civil and public servant lay offs, retirements and wage cuts, as well as a downfall in taxi driver incomes, I expect Sportslink will be suffering from a much lower income from the taxi staff paying as they go, as well as no more CS/PS staff paying their way via wage deductions. I can see PAYG costs going up in there, or at the very least they will make it 4 euro all day for the gym (as oppposed to 3 euro pre 3pm). There are plenty of gyms offering better training and equipment for the same - or lower - money.

Notice how they don't have a member of staff in the gym section at all times since 6 months ago?

they do a yearly membership up there, includes swim pool , gym and everything for something like 500 a year. Gym is good and usually very quiet outside peak hours.

Yeah, the gym is... okish. Has pretty much everything you need weights wise (sans a few kettlebells, could do with a few). The swimming pool is 6 euro, not 15... That's what I pay as a guest!
