    After the long weekend of over indulgence i gained 2 and half pounds and since monday ive cut down on the calories but i haven't seen any wieght loss yet. It seems after a day of not eating the right things i can see the increase in the weight the next day but its not working the other way around. Im wondering does your weight one day reflect what you ate and exercise level the date before or does it take a few days before you see a result.

    Also any tips to get rid of these 2 pounds, im not tall so I can realy feel it, thanks :rolleyes:

    I honestly cant think of a better way to wreck your own head than having a blowout and watching the scales afterwards, so many factors with so little acurate scale feedback, i do this every now and then but i have my blowout and get back on the wagon.....if i see an increase of a pound or 2 in the following days it no big deal, ive had differances of up to 8 pounds from the start of a day to the end.........dont fret it and it will sort itself!!

    2.5lbs=1.135kg
    2 pints=568mlx2=~1.136kg

    I can gain 2.5lb in about 2minutes lashing back 2 pints of water. I can piss the same amount in about the same time.

    Dunno about yourself, but I could, I have a bladder like a trucks diesel tank!

    Hydration will cause big flucuations, if you woke up dehydrated after a night on the booze you could easily get a good few lb more over the course of the day. You are better off weighing yourself at the same time, same day, once a week, same clothes (or better off naked), and on the same scale. Even then you will get differences on cheapo scales depending on where you stand or if it is level. I have found some cheap scales will stay stable at certain points and then jump. I have to calibrate mechanical dials etc in work and when they are sent off to calibration houses you can get a "rising" and "lowering" list of results, this means if you stood on a scale slowly it might read 80kg, but if you stood on and lifted up a weight and slowly put it down again it will have risen past 80kg and might sort of stick at a higher reading.

    You should take a few measurements to track weight gain properly. Also if you are doing resistance training you could stay the same weight while losing fat as you build muscle.

    It is best to take several calculations/measures, like hip to waist ratio which is easily measured. You could also get your bodyfat % measured if you were really worried.

    Also an old well washed & so preshrunk pair of tightish jeans acts as a whole series of tape measures.

    2.5 pounds is about 9000 cals worth. A two week deficit might cover it. But I doubt you eat this much excess and put it on over the one weekend.

    Its either water flucuations.
    Or you weren't as light as you though you were on friday
