UFC Undisputed 2010 Fight Camp

Ok, I've pre-booked my copy of this today and was just thinking about setting up a Boards.ie/Irish PS3 Fight Camp if anyone is interested.
The Demo is available to everyone today as well so anyone who wasnt registered to the game Community site can get a taste of it.

I'm not quiet sure how to set up camps yet, but I guess you can do it once the game comes out.

So if anyone is interested, you can PM me here, add me on PSN (ID: irish_stevo) or PM me on the Official UFC Undisputed Community site (irish_stevo).

Would love to see how many people would actually be interested as i think it's a cool feature for this years online game.

For anyone not up to speed on the Fight Camps, I pulled this from incgamers.com or you check out the Community Site, but there's not much info on it as of yet.

There's not much in the way of concrete detail, but going by the pageFight Camps look to function like clans, allowing players to form groups with their friends and track their progress as a team.
Captains can organise the Fight Camps, setting up descriptions, roles, a team message, and more, but we suspect most will be more interested in the ability to track stats about the Camp and the Camp members - stats that aren't viewable in the game itself. Fight Camps seems to be part of the ongoing campaign to build up a UFC Undisputed 2010 community, as they're only available to registered users. Other bonuses for registered users include early demo access, which we reported on a little earlier today.

Hey Steve-O, was waiting for this, count me in!!

We will prob have a boards tourney like last year except this time, we might make it to the final! I saw if 2 players are online, they don't have to just fight each other. They can train instead. 1person has all the trainer gear on (pads and headguard) and moves can be learned apparently, sounds cool.

Yeah the training thing does sound pretty cool and it can be done alongside your career as well. When you train online your stats and all are added to your career.

Cool were starting to get some members that seem interested. great idea!
When i make my created fighter him hes gonna be a muay thai and Judo Fighter. Ill be vicious in the clinch, againest the cage. AND if im in the clinch i can also throw them onto the ground. IPPON SEOI NAGE! :P what about u guys?

thats deadly. The banner will be important to represent our irish team. i think we should all argree on something we all like? maybe a harp with a green backround or simply the irish flag ?:P

Agreed! I think we should have the Irish flag with either Boards.ie or Boardsies written across the flag. At leat that team name will be instantly recognisable. Better put more time into the demo! Don't wanna be losing and letting my team down haha. Love that quitters now suffer a loss when they quite!

This is gonna be class. So, will TC be captain of the team? Can you make a quick list on who is in so far?

I saw as well you can invite people to the camp and list them as recruits if you don't know them. As a recruit, if you lose a fight, your camp won't suffer a loss and vice versa for a win. If the camp sees you winning a few fights, they can prmote you. great idea by THQ

I'd be up for this too. I have it pre-ordered with the hut for €43 delivered, and just checked the order status this morning. they mentioned that expected dispatch if May 21 (Fri) which would be sweet but then again I won't hold my breath.

Even though i Would like to start a HW career cus of the calibre of fighters in HW right now, I think I will go for LHW as you will have a strong fighter who will still be quick enough (need to convince my friends to make LHW now as well)

So I will be LHW. Don't know what kinda fighter yet as I want to try the new styles karate and sambo first.

Where did u guys preorder from?

I preordered from Amazon for 46 euros. The estimated delivery date was listed as 2nd June. I hope that was a mistake and send me the game earlier.U get a free strategy guide as a preorder bonus from amazon.co.uk

I also heard that there is a strong chance of receiving the game before friday (28th) if you preorder from amazon.com before thursday (20th). This is because the game is released in the US on 25th.
Unfortunately there are no preorder bonuses from amazon.com

I will be in the fight camp but i am not sure which weight class to join.

I am kinda surprised at the fact that there arent many others interested in this game here in boards.ie.

I am so hyped about this game that i cant wait. I am happy red dead is coming out tomorow. Atleast it will prove to be a distraction untill next Friday.

Does anyone know if its possible to have fights between camps of our choice or is it random camp members fighting against each other?

I'd say you can fight other camps alright but might have to set them up yourselves. The online fighting wasn't the most user friendly last year, trying to get a re-match was tricky enough!

I guess time will tell when the servers are live. WIll have to build a fighter up through career first anyway I spose.

RDR tomorrow is gonna take up a lot of time, will really have to work out a balance between both games and will just have to forfeit that other thing called life!

I've no idea what weight division I'm going to put my character as, was thinking light heavyweight or welterweight....

Also no idea on fighterstyle.
My order from thehut.com is still being processed and dispatch date isn't estimated till the 28th Looks as if I'll be playing catch up when I get it...

Not too sure of division or class myself yet. I didn't play a whole lot of '09 so I'll probably play a few days to get up to speed on things. The more reviews that are popping up though, the better it is looking.

I ordered it through thehut.com but the order is still coming up as processing, saying awaiting stock pick and expected dispatch date is 28th may, thinking of cancelling it. Anywhere else you can get it for less then fifty quid?

I have it ordered from the hut as well. Just checked my account there and it hasn't changed status for a week. It still says estimated dispatch is May 21st. I'm pretty sure that when I was picking up RDR in HMV, I saw an advertisement for UFC for 44.99 as well. Not too shabby when you consider that I paid €43 (inc del) from the hut and that was with the May bank holiday discount. I'll wait until Monday or Tuesday to see if the status is updated.

However, i am hoping this to change. If my guess is right, they should dispatch it by wednesday. If not i will buy from HMV. I also preordered from them just in case.

IN HMV, UFC 2010 is 45 euros and comes in an exclusive pack and includes a special DVD. I think the name of the dvd is knockout or something like that. I think its a collection of some great MMA fights.

Does anyone else have any luck in submitting the AI fighter?
I have played the demo numerous times now but i have never been able to submit the CPU fighter.

I also read some impressions from guys who have already got the game ( USA) in the neogaf forums who were saying that its next to impossible to submit the AI fighter.

this is the sort of release i badly needed in the current climate. no hype, no expectations just a sneaky demo where i learn first-hand its very much my thing without bought out reviewers dictating what i buy

its gonna kick arse online at that - amazingly smooth presentation n genuinely next-gen graphics.. i'm not really a UFC viewer but can't wait to buy this. Fight Night 4 pales in comparison

I am not sure if its just a preorder bonus or not. If i were u, i would preorder just to be on the safe side. There is no extra charge on preordering and u can cancel anytime. I have preordered the game from amazon and from HMV, if i dont get the game from amazon on friday, i will buy from HMV.

If amazon doesnt dispatch the game tomorow then i will cancel the preorder and buy the game from HMV on friday. I already have made plans with my friends to have a LAN game setup on friday night. I dont want to wait till next week to get the game.

I just read IGN's review of the game.They only gave it a 7.8,lowest so far. Apparently the career mode is repetitive and according to the reviewer the 360 version is better looking than the ps3 version.

yeah, thats greg miller. I dont like him very much too. He is one of those guys who got too famous without even trying. He used to be a great game critic though.

That being said, i dont like the way they have implemented the submission system this year.
