It really doesn't matter when you buy a car, if you have to resort to the first 2 numbers on the reg for vanity, well then you need checking out!

I've never bought a new car so i don't succumb to reg vanity, but i think that to buy a new car in the second half of the year is mad. If he waits an extra few months he'll have a newer more valuable car for the same money

Vectra has a disability exemption for part of the cost of the car and I think that dictates the delivery date of the car.

I've a couple of DSG Elegance models on order since the start of Feb. One is now in shipping but the other isn't being built until next week so is still 3-4 weeks away. Manual's are coming through in about 10 weeks now they have sorted the supply issue with the radio.

    SHUT UP..!!! :D:D

I am gone past that stage now to be honest.
Good quality alarm going into it anyway :)

Thanks for the best wishes guys,
    As R.O.R said.
I have to wait until 21st August as I qualify for the disabled drivers scheme and that is my change date.
Any sooner and I have to repay 80% of the allowance I got for this car

That would knock the fun out of it

Well done and good luck, full leather option is a complete waste of 3k, I have it in my Octy and its only the facings of the seats which are genuine dead cow, the rest of it is artificial leather (or Leatherette as it was once called) and it doesn't wear as well as the real stuff. I'll go with the standard half leather next time.

I paid almost 3k for full leather back in 06 on an Octy Elegance. Maybe the VRs comes with a half leather interior as standard so you only had to pay for an "upgrade". Well done either way.

Seriously.... you'd swear the country doesn't waste enough money already.. in a recession you want to give them 30k cars? Are you insane, by any chance?

But they would not be paying 30k would they??
Probably about 15 ish without vat/vrt,,bulk purchase discount.

The cars are 25,600 in a dealership so buying in bulk should knock 15-20% off the top of that again.

Not an expensive fleet and great for GTC at the very least.

    Noel Deasy, Cork.

Actually €25,400 after checking the e-mail
The best price I can offer you the Race Blue Octavia 2.0 Tdi Vrs is €25,400 on a straight deal.

Can I ask, what would the price of this car be if I were to go and try buy one? Note: I don't wanna know what the OP paid, just what would the asking price be if someone went to a dealer to buy it

See my post above ^^^^ EDIT Asking price is €28,000

Autostation quoted me on Tuesday at €26,000 on a blue one as well, sitting in the showroom but Im sure you could get him down to €25,400.

If one dealer can go the others should be able to.

The dealer in Navan will have a black VRs in around the middle of June, found this out Tuesday as well.

Dealer in Banteer Co Cork will have two VRs ex demo cars due in a few weeks. These cars were/are currently being driven by Skoda head office.

One is Silver, I think the other is blue.

You should get a better price on these as well.

    Define "different"

The dealer in Banteer have a 2.0Tdi 140bhp Elegance in Black with Cream interior in stock. Should have been a 170 so it's free stock.

    Not ordered specifically for someone.

Fairly rare for any dealer or manufacturer to have any free stock this year.

Brave choice of colour V, but if anything, it should make it even more of a sleeper!
Bonus cool points if you decide to remap it! :D

I should make a trip to Banteer again, if only to see what I'd get for the van...

    ............

    Different = 2.0 Tdi, 170BHP AWD :D

    It's for Jan 2011.

(Skoda Ireland don't have one, never did, and don't anticipate having one! Unless someone like me places an order? )

There was a 4x4 Estate in Phoenix when I was there a few weeks ago!

I'd allow 16 weeks for delivery on that. Should be quicker, but no harm if it sits in the Skoda compound over Christmas so it's ready for you in Jan.

sorry to go off topic but this is the weirdest quote!!! august is only 3 months away. If we all waited 'a few' extra months nothing would ever be sold lol! By this ideology, why not buy the car this time next year coz it'll be a year newer than now lol:rolleyes:

All the best with it OP!!! VERY JEALOUS:cool:

And if we all keep waiting for what's around the corner, we'd all have no cars and just keep waiting for something newer.
