Lib Dem or Green for me, apparently. Do I not theoretically get a vote in the UK elections, or do I have to be resident there for that?

It is very easy to get on the register in the UK. I was living there for a year but when I was only there a few days a form came to the house to add any new people living at the address to the register. I put my name down, nothing else.

When the elections for London mayor came along I got my vote, I was not asked for a shred of proof. Basically from what I see if you know someone living there you could register to vote at their address if you lived there or not, dont know why anyone would want to do this though.

Its much harder here, I was removed from the register here and had to get forms signed by the guards etc to get back on despite living here all my life and being on the register for years before hand.

After completing that, I've got an urge to polish my jackboots and head off to Warsaw in my Panzer.

I've been assimilated into the Borg Nationalist Party @69%

    I got 51% Lib Dems

Just noticed that nobody got conservative or labour main parties, which seems a bit weird, considering not very many people will vote BNP or UKIP or Green . . .

I do have a UK vote, and this quiz is telling me to vote BNP.

    UK Independence Party: 65%
    Conservative Party: 51%
    Labour Party: 25%

I don't really know a lot about the party's so I cant really say how accurate the results are. I should also still have a vote from when I was living there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭RichTea

I'd probably be able to vote.

It came out as Lib Dems, Labour, Greens then the rest way behind. That's pretty much as I expected it to be.

I'm able to vote, cos I'm living in the UK right now. Anyone from the UK, a Commonwealth country or Ireland can vote if they live here

    What the bloody hell!

My relatives in the UK are voting Conservative but would have voted BNP if they had a candidate in their constituency. Immigration is totally out of control in the UK and whites are practically a minority in London now, it is disgraceful and horrible, I was in London over the weekend but it felt like I was in either Nairobi, Mumbai or Islamabad, the Brits must have a Deathwish if they don't stop immigration soon.

    BNP 51%

Surprised about the high number of boardsies getting high marks for BNP.

Just highlights the gulf between the BNP and other parties which refuse to touch immigration matters. People see an issue and there's only 1 party willing to be direct in discussing it.

Even if most of BNP's policies are extreme, if other parties aren't willing to acknowledge the subject then they're tacitly telling people to support the party that is willing to do so.

45% Conservatives vs 40% Lib Dems... I'm shocked! Although I don't actually know a whole lot about things like Parliamentary Reform in the UK, so I don't really have much of an opinion on them, which may have affected my score... Still, it's HIGHLY unlikely that I'd ever actually pick a conservative party over a liberal one.

Think a lot of people vote for the party of which they like the name of most, regardles of policys.

At least I didn't get a high score for the BNP I suppose, thought it'd still be lower though

Is it just me or is the idea of a party actually called 'conservative' a bit odd? I know it's a political concept now, but only because the party exists in the firt place.

People interviewd on sky news are saying they'll vote conservative for change... maybe labour would be better served handing out dictionaries than campaigning?

I have a UK vote. I live in a safe labour seat (at least it was safe). I'm a natural Labour voter, but massively disillusioned with them over so many issues. However I do not want to live in a country with Dapper Dave as Pm. I'll be voting Lib-Dem tomorrow, in the hope that they'll hold the balance of power and push through voting reform so that the ridiculous first past the post system, which disenfranchises huge swathes of the UK electorate, is changed for some form of PR.

    Sinn Fein: 50%
    Ulster Unionist Party: 49%
    Democratic Unionist Party: 45%
Social Democratic and Labour Party: 43%
    Alliance Party: 35%

Weird, if you switched DUP & Sinn Fein its the exact opposite order I'd have in voting preference.
