Not exactly sure what's going on but some colleagues couldn't get in yesterday.

Closed until further notice I heard due to a dispute over rent. I think they have a court date at some point this week to try and get it reopened - so probably best not to speculate too much at this stage.

The management/owners seem like a decent bunch down there from what I hear - hope it gets sorted for all concerned, not least the members.

Friend just mailed me and apparently the courts granted the injunction and they should be able to open at some point today / tomorrow.

Not sure if this can happen again without notice at some point in the future though or what is really going on.

Looks like they are back in business. Saw it was opened yesterday evening.

I'm a member there, was closed on Wed evening last week when I arrived and one of the instructors was there outside telling nembers what the story was. I'm planning on going this evening so hopefully all will be ok then.

It's fine for me, there were some negative posts about it in another thread but while I'm just a normal gym person there's serious lifters there in the evenings so there's weights to suit every person.

It's not a massive gym, that's the main negative I could advise someone of but it's not a problem for me either.

I've gone some mornings around 9 as I don't start work until 10 and there's barely a sinner around.

I just wish it opened weekends as I live in Spencer Dock and struggle to fit 3 trips in a week between Mon-Fri.

Ah, me too, so its only a short stroll, the no weekends thing is a big bummer though, saying that the whole area is dead come friday night

True, I reckon (when I'm there ay 9pm some nights) that the office people are long home by 9pm so the people still there (and it can be busy then) must be living reasonably close so I'm sure even a Saturday wouldn't be that quiet there.

When I joined the gym back in 2005, they had weekends opened however it was dead quiet every time I went in on Saturday or Sunday. So I guess to cut down the overheads, they no longer do weekends.

Early mornings are the best time to go in. You'd have pretty much all the machines n weights to yourself. At least you won't have to be in a queue. Evenings especially Mon-Wed are normally busy thou especially if you want to use the weights. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Anyhow, I've just cancelled my membership as I don't see how I can get myself in for the next few months due to work, etc. I will definitely come back if I can.

I'm a member there - when I was leaving last night I noticed they had a bowl of Roses with a sign thanking the patrons for their patience. I thought it was hillarious to have sweets at a gym - a bowl of apples maybe?

I love it there, the classes are brilliant. Spinning and step are always part of my week.

I live close by and am a bit annoyed that they arent open weekends.

It was sort of quiet today for a Tuesday evening. I guess some of the members don't know yet it has reopened.

Agreed on being closed on weekends. I don't live in the area but wouldn't mind going the odd weekend.

That way they will keep people going to the gym, a few extra calories to burn hahaha

What are peoples views on SV Fitness now?
Is it worth the €50pm/€399 per year?
Is it still closed at the weekends?
    When are the peek times?
