    Hi Folks

I'm looking for advice on the best type of diet that will promote weight loss. I'm a 30 year old male, 5ft 9in and about 11st 8lbs. I was 14 stone about three years ago but managed to get down to exactly 11st (my lowest). According to BMI calculators I'm a healthy weight, my lowest healthy weight would be 9st but I have set a target of 10st as my ideal weight.

The problem is I just can’t seem to get below the 11st barrier. I eat healthy and exercise a lot, or at least I think I eat healthy. My diet is high in fiber (bran flakes), fruit (with some low fat yogurt), veg and lean meats (chicken breast, usually with two slices of whole wheat brown bread). I only drink low fat milk and try to keep most products low fat and I also take the odd multi vitiman/seven seas tablet, but this is not a daily occurrence.

    I exercise about 5-6 days a week, 3 x weight lifting sessions, 3 x 30 min runs.
My only vice is 6 pints on a Saturday night.

I switched jobs recently and now I spend about 8 hours sitting at a desk which is why my weight has creeped up to 11st 9lbs from 11st.

Obviously my current eating/exercise habits are keeping me at this weight and preventing me from removing those last few stubborn pounds, so I'm looking for advice that works from people who were in a similar situation and reached there ideal weight. Answers to the following questions would be much appreciated but any advice/information not related to the questions below is also welcome. A diet+workout plan is what I really need I suppose.

Q1: As I'm thirty my metabolism has slowed down and 10st is not a realistic/achievable goal?

Q2: Do I need to pack in the 6 pints for good to get that really lean weight?

Q3: My diet (bran in the morning, chicken breast with a couple of slices of brown bread and fruit and low fat yoghurt or veg (varies) for lunch, maybe some more fruit and bran in the evening (I usually don’t eat anything after 8:30)), all wrong? it got me down to 11 but I need something extreme for the last push?

Thanks for taking the time out to read this. Any suggestions and comments would be much appreciated, thanks in advance for those also.
