Post Workout

hey all - am about to order some liquid chalk and seeing as I was ordering and have been thinking about adding a shake for my post workout thought I would ask a question. I have been debating with myself on whether to get a tub of something for immediately after my workout - so far I have not used supplements as I am happy enough to eat more but I do not always do so immediately after my workout and from what I read I am losing out here.

So, if I went for a tub of something what would be best and if I was to do it from a food point of view what would be best, ie in the changing room before I shower etc.

    Cheers.

read the first post of the supplements thread

you can get whey protein and a fast carb like dextrin or maltodextrin pretty cheap from www.myprotein.co.uk or www.bulkpowders.co.uk

Whenever someone asks about post workout nutrition or supplements I always wonder what the rest of their diet and sleep routine is.

    Is this up to scratch?

Sorry yep should have said, I did. So in a subtle way (ie so subtle I never mentioned it :) ) if I was to go for something like RAM - what would be a good equivalent in actual food, that could be eaten and taken to the gym easily and without mess? As I mentioned I would rather not lose out on the chance of another meal but depending on the messiness of it...

Actual food, I normally go for milk after the gym. Not sure how good it is as PWO but its easy to drink and better than nothing.

The whole PWO thing is poppycock. I like that world so I'll go again; poppycock. There is no "window" after training where you have to smash calories or overpriced refined sugar into your body. Your digestive system, nay your whole body, simply doesn't work that way. Anyone who says it does is trying to sell you a product, be wary of the articles you read on this topic.
