Leg exercises for dumbbells

I used to go to the gym, but I prefer to work out at home, so I got a bench and dumbbells. It doesn't make any difference to the upper body, but I'm not getting such good results with the legs. With the leg extension, leg curl and abduction/adduction machines, I got really noticeable muscle definition, but at home doing just lunges and squats with dumbbells, I'm not getting such good results, plus doing abduction/adduction without weights just doesn't really do anything. Can anyone suggest what I should do?

Get bigger dumbells or a barbell. Im sorry but squats and lunges are far better than leg extensions and adduction machines. Maybe you need more weight.

Hows your diet, if you store fat around your hips, it could be your diet needs work.

I do goblet squats with my dumbbell, I can fit 3x10kg plates on one side and 2x5kg on the other, so including the bar it is 47kg, you hold it with the bigger plates on top.

Do your squats one leg at a time, and you'll feel it.
