    Words are very dangerous things. Wars have been sparked by the use of words. John Adams once remarks that the abuse of words has been the great instrument of sophistry and chicanery, of party, faction, and division of society. We should be careful, and considered, in our use of words.

    Indeed we should I agree. But people are not killed by words. They are killed by weapons. The weapons are wielded by those who listen to the words of other people many of whom are not prepared to risk their own lives and do national service. . the same sort of people who would never go into a boxing ring and criticise others for smacking their children are quite happy to have the policing or soldiering done by others when they would never do it themselves. What was it Oscar Wilde said ?
    "Yet each man kills the thing he loves,
    By each let this be heard,
    Some do it with a bitter look,
    Some with a flattering word,
    The coward does it with a kiss,
    The brave man with a sword
