Treadmill - burning smell........

Got a new treadmill last year. It's a proform 3.6 and is a pretty good machine (I think), except that after use there is a terrible burning smell left in the room that lingers until the next day. I have had a technician out to check it and could find anything wrong. He was very thorough and replaced the motor, tightened the belt and lubricated it, but the problem still persists. It functions perfectly but the smell is very bad. Has anyone had a similar problem or have any possible solutions?????????

Any advice on how to solve this would be great.

Just doing a search for that treadmill and the word smell gets many sites with this message.
A durable walking belt of the highest quality, it has an exceptional one year warranty. Its pre-lubed, with an additional tube of lube for suggested use at 6-8 months after installation. Unlike some factory belts, a Treadmill Doctor replacement walking belt doesnt have a foul smell!

So it could be the belt material, and may need to change to another type. Did it smell when the guy came to look at it. I expect it would smell more when actually running on it as it would be under more pressure and rubbing more against its supports and heating up. Not sure if you did but I would have been running on it before he came to get it smelling so he could try and locate where it was coming from.

    Was he experienced with treadmills?

Experienced technician, But couldn't figure out problem hence why he changed out the motor and checked other likely sources. I am trying to follow it up through the vendor and will post any updates. thanks
p.s. Sorry about delay in responding, i appreciate your help.........
