Does anyone know if you start a course on a semesterised system can it be changed to a full academic year part way through your studies.

I have been studing in semesters for 2 years now and have recently found out that next year is not semesterised.

Is there any regulations about this

help or advice would be much appreciated

...why exactly would it make much of a difference to you? I mean, I can understand if they changed the assessment rules during a year, but altering things from year to year is what colleges do.

In my course, we're currently dealing with a change in term structure. It's being a pain for assignments, but we're giving our department feedback where it's too awkward or difficult, and they're taking it into account.

Similarly, they're changing and rotating individual courses from year-to-year all over the place.

I'd say that colleges can structure and restructure their courses as they wish, so long as they meet the expectations of what that course provides.

If you don't approve or feel it puts an unfair burden on students, get together with others and your Students' Union and complain.
