Hoping to get fit/lose weight

    Hi, I'm 40 and female, looking to lose weight I already do a bit of exercise but I was wondering if anyone had advice on what I can eat and what exercises will help me lose weight. I currently do palates and use the cross trainer alot as I can't use the threadmill due to a bad knee. I'm not very big but have put on weight in recent times. Should I be doing weights? large weights small reps or vice verse? Any advise appreciated
