Not a chance in hell I'll watch this after suffering most of the first leg last week.

Bayern to go through, Robben to get them to the final!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭DubDani

Depends on who they can field. In their last training session Bayern only had 14 fit players (incl. keepers), and might even have to field van Bommel as a central defender.

Currently Klose, Demichelis, van Buyten and Contente are all questionable. In addition to that Ribery and Timotschyk (sp?) were left behind in Munich (banned/injured).

First leg was abysmal tbh. Hopefully they'll produce better tonight. You can't help but think that the final is tomorrow night tbh. Sorry Lyon/Bayern fans.:o

Can't be as bad as the first leg. Lyon players and Puel have basically came out and said they were dreadful and should be much better this time. Here's hoping.

Well there's at last 2 Bayern fans that I know of. I'm the only Lyon fan AFAIK.

Granted, the Lyon coach admitted they played with the handbrake on in Munich, regardless it was still the worst performance I've ever seen at this level - did they even have a shot off target never mind on?! Bayern should have put this tie to bed. Still reckon there'll be no sucker punch though and they'll get through.

It's almost like God has been on their side in this season's Champions League - a win needed on the last day of the group stages against Juve and hockied them 4-1 (haven't seen them match that level since this season), a scandalous offside goal which proved to be invaluable in the last 16 against Fiorentina and Rafael's sending off for Manure in the quarters. Expect the winner of Inter/Barca to win convincingly in the final mind, their teams are much more special than Bayern/Lyon.

It is strange for a CL semi-final to have so little interest. Even betting-wise there is little interest in this - its a tough one to call. Lyon are pretty poor recently and Bayern are fairly unpredictable so think I will avoid any bet on this though I do think both teams will score but Bayern will qualify so maybe Lyon 2-1.

Not forgetting the battering they got from Bordeux in the 2nd leg of the last round. Bless to be here but fair play to them all the same.

Just hope they play some positive attacking football tonight and make a tie of it.

Couple of lads where I work support Lyonnais, well up for the game 2nite.

PP are doing a good treble. Lyon, Barca and L'pool all to win 5/1 treble.

I have a bit of banter with a French fella I work with, he supports Arsenal though.

Well I'll be a supporter of Lyon tonight, being a supporter of all things French. Some of my French family live just down the road in Bourgoin (although they support St Etienne)

Hopefully not as bad as the first leg. Fully expecting Bayern to go through but French football is good this season so who knows what could happen.

    Lisandro Lopez = King Leonidis

12 fcuking seconds in and we get the typical "no English team could make it into the semi final this year"

Concentrate on the game IN FRONT OF YOU!!

Hard to imagine Lyon scoring 3 the way they've been so far

They've not created anything (thus far) that looks like a potential goal scoring chance.

They look clueless in the final third.

Their "Barca formation" isn't working for them as yet.

    Bastos so so close.

Delgado is **** tonight. Has he ever been any good?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,482 ✭✭✭✭Ush1

Terrible from Lyon again, but add bad finishing also.
I love how Puel does nothing either. He turned what was a great attacking side into a fumbling team that doesn't know if it's coming or going. Supposed to be defensive but constantly concede. He should be sacked even if Lyon somehow won the CL, it would have been pure luck despite him tbh.
