Feeling nausious during/after gym session

    Hi

I've been going to the gym for a few months and something thats really annoying me is that I start to feel nausious after about hour or less in the gym and sometimes have to cut my workout short because of it. One time I actually did hurl and it wasn't cool( made it to the toilet though).

I spoke to some other people and they said they have got sick after a gym session but only just the once. This is happening to me everytime I go, especially after I work on my legs. I don't use free weights atm I just use the machines.

I thought it might be due to eating to soon before going to gym but i normally go two hours after a meal and have 1 or 2 meals before going(normally eggs, cereal, sandwich, fruit).

Is this a common enough phenomenon? Is there anything I can do dietwise to help this situation? Any advice appreciated.

    cheers;)

You probably have your reasons for doing more than an hour but for many an hour of intense training is usally plenty so dont worry about not getting any more in.
If it was something you ate you be feeling sick well before an hour.
I think you are probablly pushing your self a bit hard.

It happens to me as well, but only when I do my legs.

Same when I do my legs.
Thats weird. I think it's just pushing yourself as it happens during my endurance too.

Have you tried eating 3 or 4 hours before and taking a whey shake an hour before?
Only time I get stomach trouble is when I have to eat and go to the gym within an hour/hour and a half. I don't hurl but I do get a lot of burping etc.

If I'm in the situation, eating and working out close together (usually because of work/kids) I've started to eat less solid food and down a shake. I still find I start out weaker.

I don't know.. maybe it's in the quantity of food you are eating? Eating 2 hours before a workout is a good rule of thumb for most people but then again everyones's different.
Maybe you could cut back on the quantity of food before-hand and see if it helps. You can always make up for it an hour or two afterwards instead.
I guess it's a case of finding out what works for you.

I did have a mate that used to hurl 20 mins into a game of soccar, turns out he had an ulcer.
