Come out and admit something that you don't know that you're pretty sure everyone else in the world knows.

    I haven't a clue what a "5 o clock shadow" means.

    Don't be afraid...

Are we accounting for daylight savings time? Timezones?

I reckon 5 oclock shadow in New Zealand would be 4am shadow.

Five O' Clock shadow refers to stubble on a man that could be seen at the end of a working day. In the morning it was assumed that man shaved therefore when he started work he was clean shaven. as the day drew on and he finished work the clean shaven look was gone and there was a light sign of stubble. This was called a Five O' Clock shadow in reference to the time of day it was seen and how it looked like a shadow cast on a face.

I really don't understand any of the Irish language. I spent years studying it in school and passed it for the leaving but I seriously cannot understand it at all.

If you 'Assume' something, you make an ASS out of U and ME.

If you 'Presume' something, you made a PRE out of ...

    ... no, that doesn't work :p

I know you can 'assume a position', but you can't 'presume one'.

a paradigm is basically the common method used to do something. for example a toilet paradigm would be to go in, pull pants down, sit and dump. if everyone started going in, dumping, then removing their pants and sitting down it would be a paradigm shift...as far as i know.

beautiful, i always think about the movie bruce almighty. he says B E A utiful...i say it every time i spell it.

i think 99s got the name because they used to cost 99p

affect and effect: affect is when something does something to affect it...
the effect is what happened to the second something.
eg: the effect of lobing a brick at a window is it breaks. the brick affected the window.

I might make an ass out of myself but as I understand it. To assume presume something is to make a guess based upon known factors, to presume assume something it to make a guess without basing it upon any known factors.

    edit: wrong way round
