    Because it's €29.99 at Xtravision.

Indeed. If we're talking e-tailers, it's £14.99 at Amazon and is eligible for free shipping.

    Never ever buy from there.

I'd rather e-tail than pay that

They're bringing out the 3D DVD later this year, think I'll hold on till then.

This 2D one is just a money spinner..

The 3D is the money spinner. Do you have a 3D TV to go with that 3D version you are holding out for?

The 3D one is obviously not for 3D TVs.... .They will be providing 3D glasses with the 3D version.

you still need the 3d classes for 3d tv's....

    EDIT:
The Chinese manufacturer TCL has developed a 42-inch LCD 3D TV called the TD-42F, which is currently available in China. This model uses a lenticular system and does not require any special glasses. It currently sells for approximately $20,000

Right just came across this, only 3d telly in production that doesnt require glasses costs a feck lot...

Provide a link that says this is not for 3D TV's please. James Cameron said in an interview that it was.

I never said that you didn't need 3D glasses for 3D TVs.
I'm saying that the version that is coming out later this year will be for standard TVs and the DVD will come with 3D glasses.

Also, you'll find that 3D DVDs for 3D televisions do not exist.... A 3D DVD for a 3D TV defeats the purpose. The purpose of 3D TVs is to convert 2D DVDs to 3D...

"*Note: 3D enabled TVs and add-ons are now available through some manufacturers; however, these TVs do not read the content from a 3D disc, but they convert 2D movies to a 3D experience. "

Do a little research before you blindly disregard what people are saying...

A 3D TV will take two images and overlap them to create the 3D effect. You suggested that a 3D TV will show a standard DVD in 3D. That is wrong.

Do a little research. How grown up of you.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 295 ✭✭Jayeire

    ..doesn't mean all 3D TVs.

Sorry, I didn't realise you were a 3D TV manufacturer. How do you possibly know that this doesn't mean all. Find one that varies so and post it here.

I am still waiting for your link that states Avatar 3D is obviously for DVD on a normal tv.

Your correct, yes, indeed a 3D tv will take two images and overlap them to great a 3D effect. Hence being called "3D". Thanks for the definition.

Did you even read the article. What exactly is wrong? 2D DVDs shown as 3D on a 3D TV.

Your link refers to glasses with different coloured lenses so what that has to do with a 3D TV i don't know.

The first part of the article does refer to glasses yes.

However if you cared to read beyond that first paragraph there you would indeed find the final one. Which was what I referenced.

and I'm still waiting for you to read the full article.

There's a little search engine called www.google.com. Try it. Although you'd probably disregard everything past the 1st result anyway.. Seeing as you can't even read a full article.

The second part of your link that you go on about does not say anything about DVD's. It says Bluray so maybe you should try reading your own links before trying to educate anyone about something you know nothing about.

    I am done with you.

Watched the Man U and Man City match in 3d, TBH its not great, Some of the replays were good because the camera was zoomed in on the player. 3d is only effective if there are objects in the foreground or background, So for football it isnt great. Although i hear 3d American Football specifically the NFL is meant to be unreal. If you have ever watched the NFL on Sky their camera angles are fantastic. They have cameras EVERYWHERE on the field. Even floating right above the players!

IMO 3D is Cinema Only technology, unless you can afford a 3d projector!

Picked this up in the Henry St. HMV this evening. It is €19.99 on Blu-Ray if you spend €10 on something else. Was getting my new Rig the Jig DVD/CD set anyway so it worked.

Watch the teller though because she did not scan the code for the discount until I asked her.

As for the bickering above, play nicely now.

3D TVs will enhance 2d pictures to give some depth perception but to get the full effect you need a 3D Blueray. Jayeire you are talking a lot of nonsense and making out like you know what your talking about but it seems you don't.
