Stretching Question

    Hey all,
I've recently gotten a DVD, Ultimate Stretching by Sang H. Kim. It came highly recommended by a guy I met over here in Korea. He does Tae kwan do and he said that this was the book that they used for training, the DVD is the same as the book. They've got a tonne of cheap, more than likely dodgy, DVDs here aswell so I said I might aswell buy it.

It's got three movement patterns in it, all of which take 20mins each. I've been doing the beginners one pretty much every morning when I wake up, five days out of seven anyway. I can really feel being that bit looser and it's nice to start the day with some light excercise. Most of the excercises are moving your joints through full range of motion with stretches thrown in. I'm having particular difficulty with one or two though and I'm wondering if someone can help me.

The ones I have a problem with are when I have to sit down on the ground with my legs going out to either side (legs in a V from my pelvis out). You get into position and then you try to move your hands out bit by bit, thus bringing your shoulders forward and stretching your back (I presume). My attempt at this is pretty pitiful though, I can just about move my hands forward but not to any great length. Any tips on how to make this a bit easier, or is it just a case of keep at it and it'll come?

The only other one I have a real problem with is sitting on the floor with legs together and touching my toes. I can touch my toes from standing first go by pushing my hips back, but when I'm sitting down legs together I can just about make my shins. Any tips or is it again a case of just sticking at it?

Just keep at it I'm not familiar with the dvd; but I have a book of his (Ultimate stretching for martial arts) and it is first rate!
I do a little bit of martial arts and it has improved my flexibility no end.
