Salt and Vinegar are the best for eating on it's own. Having a crisp sandwich it's Cheese and Onion.

Once again, AH bringing up the great debates in this age. The issues at the centre of modern society.

    Dump her.

If she starts an argument over which crisps are better its not worth the hassle.

haha thats exactly what I have beside me right now .

Plan to make a ham and Chedder cheese sandwich now , Crush up my packet of C&O and sprinkle it handsomely over the cheese

We had this debate in the pub one night. I think it's cheese and onion, as the salt and vinegar never has enough flavour in them. Of course when i said this that night, one of the lads grabbed the salt and vinegar from inside the bar and doused a pack in them!

OMG, they were delicious! They go ever so slightly soggy with the vinegar but still.... my mouth is watering right now!!!

King - Cheese and Onion, no competition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 942 ✭✭✭whadabouchasir

I'd go for S&V.They do have one flaw however, because of their strong taste it's almost impossible to eat 2 packets one after the other.

salt n vinegar, the smell of them alone makes my tongue tingle, this does not happen with cheese n onion.

Damn walkers for sometimes confusing me with the colours though

Cheese and Onion. Obviously. Walkers Max are THE best! Yum

Salt & Vinegar all the way!

The smell of someone breath after eating cheese and onion crisps is just gross. :p

    Salt and Vinegar please.
Taytos and Hunky Dories aren't strong enough anymore for my liking . . .they've gone to skimpy with the flabouring . . .now Walkers I like cos they often tend to burn the tongue off ya .num num . . but there's never enough in the pack:mad:

Personally I'd think the other way; for my taste buds S&V gives you the nasty taste up front, no waiting about for an aftertaste. The last time I had some S&V it was by accident due to some packet colour mixup, and I had to spit the ****ers out pronto

However I see most of you so far seem to prefer them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,995 ✭✭✭Sofiztikated

First packet I'll reach for would be cheese & onion.

    However.

If they are McCoys, FlameGrilled Steak or Ready Salted please.

Salt and Malt Vinegar Hunkey Doreys are well tasty too.

Cheese and Onion. With the flavour balance more prejudiced to the onion side.

And phrased exactly as above. C-h-e-e-s-e-and O-n-i-o-n. Not something along the lines of Pungent Orkney Cheddar and Outer Hebrides Shallot.

    Thank you.

Get 1 bag of C&O and 1 bag of S&V, pour one into the other, crunch them up a small bit and then give the bag a bit of a shake.

    Nice.

You have no love for S&V yet your name is Banshee Bones :p The saltiest, most vinegary crisps around ;)

As someone said before Salt and Vinegar for eating on their own but for a sandwich it has to be Tayto Cheese and Onion :D

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,524 ✭✭✭owenc

Cheese and onion! Not tayto to oniongy! Anyway salt and vinegars are sour and stung your tongue!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,300 ✭✭✭MayoForSam

C&O for me most definitely, can't stand S&V. Made the mistake once of trying some S&V crisps when I had a mouth ulcer - ouch!

Hate to say it, but I prefer Walkers too.
