    Hi all

Something to get a little excited about, you may have heard about a little thing called 3D TV....
Well we are planning a 3D instore demo evening towards the end of May to show it off.

Now all the fine details are as yet to be finalized but I expect it will be either a 40 or 46" 8 series TV, hopefully the larger of the two - bigger is better, especially as far as 3D is concerned:)

We should have a good few sets of the glasses to go around as well.
Once I have more concrete information I'll update this post.

    So...
If you're interested in joining us for the demo evening please add your name to this post..

    Cheers folks
    Ash

    Sounds good.

Do you have any information on the new 3D TV's at this stage? Any early reports? I'm interested in the Philips 40PFL8605. Have you heard when it's due to be released, prices, etc...

So the add on pack referred to here - would this possibly indicate to us folks that bought sets in 2009 might still be able to experience 3D. Or is this Homer Simpson logic... :)

    Hi Builder22

    'fraid not:(

You'll need a shiney new 8 or 9 series TV to take advantage of 3D

    Cheers
    Ash

Well seeing as i only got the 9 series in October, 3D will have to wait for me to catch up...:)

    Hi Ashley,

Yes, put my name down so you can tempt me out of more of my fast-disappearing money. All looks very tempting, very tempting indeed....though as a Nov. '09 TV purchaser I think herself may have some thoughts on this.

Naturally I assume there will be a draw on the evening for some lucky attendee to win a Full 3D TV, 3D Blu-Ray Player and Surround Sound system.......:D:D oh, look, there's a pig flying outside...

    Hi Folks

Our 3D demo evening will finally take place Tuesday 25th May.

I will have a 40PFL9705H 3D TV instore as well as a 3D enabled BR player plus 10 pairs of Active Shutter glasses to pass around.

I havent even seen this TV in action myself as yet so I'm looking forward to it

I plan on closing the doors at 5pm and having a Boardies evening between then and 7:30pm.
We should have a Philips rep' or two available so you can pick their brains for all the info on nw range of Philips TV's and of course 3D TV's.

So come along and bring a friend or two:)

    Cheers
    Ash

I was originally led to believe that we'd be getting hold of a 46PFL8605H for the day but now I'm told its a 40PFL9705.

The 8605H range is due early next month....

Ash the most important when can we buy these babies

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,957 ✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: Ashley

    That is the important question!!

The 40 and 46PFL8605 are due week commencing 31st May so I's count that as being available in the first couple of weeks in June and the 9705 range is due July

We should have an eta on the 3D glasses pack and 3D BR player soon - these will follow the TV's.

    Cheers

    Ash,

Can I come as well ;).

If I come I promise to let you borrow the new Monitor Audio Apex 5.1 Sub / Sat system which you can use for your 3D demo - the system is just plain MEGA - sells at £2500 normally - I'll also bring down an Onkyo TXSR608 1.4 Receiver so we should be able to make quite a bit of noise to match the 3D pics!

Looking forward to Tuesday & meeting Boardies in the flesh..

    John Mc

    Guys,

unfortunately we have been forced to cancel our 3D demo tomorrow.

This is due to reasons outside our control (ie. the Courier dropped the factory sample which is worth many multiples of my annual salary and the Philips guys have spent all day trying to rebuild it today to no avail..).

We will reschedule it as early as possible and apologies for the inconvenience.

We will have to put the popcorn back into stock in the meantime

Sorry guys and as ever drop me a line if we can assist,

    ATB,

John Mc & The Philips Crew
