    Pockets:
    Wallet
    iPod
    iPhone

    Backpack:
    The way of shadows book.
A variety of music of music magazines.
    PC Pro magazine.
    Bottle of water.
    Charger for iPhone/iPod.
    Notebook and fountain pen.

So glad to have an ipod. Can remember when I used to have to carry around a large number of CDs in the back pack too.

If you can read this, you're too close!

Interesting topic! I've always had pockets filled with interesting and useful things for as long as I can remember, but these are the core items that have accompanied me everywhere since before my teens:
    Pockets:
    - keys
    - penknife
    - mini phase tester
    - wallet
    - phone

    And in my coat pockets:
    - thinsulate hat
    - camera

    Book
Wallet (containing train tickets, bank cards, organ doner card and emergency €20.00 and a few business cards collected recently)
Phone (Cheap one that stands up to constanting dropping)
Swiss Army Knife. (As Khannie says - essential)
One single latch key - ringed to the knife.
And for some strange reason a cocktail stirrer (G&T swizzel stick) has ended up in the breast pocket of my jacket.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I could get rid of the MP3 player and use my phone as one but I prefer to have both.

    Phone, keys, wallet, small change.

But wallet contains Swiss Card (flattened style Swiss Army knife) for all those handy SAS type emergencies that might pop up. On my second now as I forgot to remove the first years ago when going through airport security and had to sacrifice it :(

Wallet - about €180 plus cards (including multi-organ donar card).

Bag - junk!.. Off the top of my head - Heart Rate Monitor & strap, trainers, socks & jocks (fresh & unfresh :o ), Tiger Balm & tape (for my fingers - to complicated to explain). Flip flops, shower gel, deodorant, aftershave & moisturiser.....

    The list goes on!...

Swimming shorts, lifting straps, two t-shirts, iPod, inhaler ... I'm in a restricted area so can't take a photo to show how packed full of junk this bag has (and I've another one at home!).

When I get home I'll exchange this one for my Judo bag and its out training again!.

Oh, in both bags I carry a pretty decent medical kit.

No Swiss army knife for me - I prefer my Leatherman :P

    Pockets:
Phone (something basic and functional, contrary to what Khannie asserts, I think fancy, expensive phones like the iPhone are silly - if I had one I'd just end up breaking or losing it)

Why the fcuk are there so many people with bags!!

Training gear is just too bulky. Sometimes I literally have to beat stuff into my bag and it's a fairly big bag. On a bad day I'll have the following in it:

shin pads (big ones, not like for football) edit: like these.
    shorts x 2
    t-shirt x 2
    towel
cup (for my gentlemen, not for drinking ;))
    gumshield
goggles (they're always in there, forgot to add them in my first post)
    protein shaker
Food (this can be quite a bit)
    Water bottle
    16oz gloves for sparring
    10oz gloves for pad work
    hand wraps
    clean underwear
    clean socks

The gloves and shin pads take up a shockin' amount of space. Some of the other stuff (e.g. hand wraps) I can shove inside the gloves.

I actually find it weird leaving the house without a bag now. :)

    Change
    Work ID

great random idea for a thread

I try not to carry much in my pockets tbh. I think stuffing the pockets of suit makes it look wrong, and can put it out of shape etc.

    So

    Trouser Pockets

Wallet - cash, lots of change, cards, wifey picture
    Cigarette Lighter

    Suit Jacket Pocket

    Work Phone
    Business Card Holder thingy
    Small notebook
    Cross Pen

I carry a briefcase for work, I'm pretty much constantly on the move, not office based. Its handy to keep all the bits and pieces I need in one place. In this I got:

    Various work related literature bit
    Filofax
    Assorted Scissors/medical bits and bobs
    Car Keys
    More business cards
    Other peoples business cards
Spare cig lighter and emergency cigarette stash
Emergency funds - about a fiver or so
Personal phone - Iphone 3GS (one of the best pieces of kit I've ever bought)
DSLR camera sometimes - but that has its own case/bag

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,493 ✭✭✭DazMarz

    My pockets (trousers, jacket etc.):
    -iPod Classic 120gb

    -Nokia 5130 Cellular Phone

    -Earbuds (connected to iPod)

-Wallet (contents: cash (Euro and Pounds sterling), debit cards, credit card, Solid Saver bank card, Chelsea Football Club True Blue Membership card, blood donor card, Ladbrokes online/phone bet card, Caesars Palace casino members card, Bellagio casino members card, Colossus Casino membership card, Fitzwilliam Card Club membership card, Sporting Emporium membership card, student card, spare business cards, bus timetable, One4All gift card, 3V card, Social Services/PPSN card, EMOS photocopying services card, FF membership card, driving licence, lucky Norwegian coin)

    -Passport

-Business card holder (containing 10 business cards)

    -Gold Cross pen

    -Keys (home, work, car, locker)

    -Extra Ice spearmint mints

    -pack of tissues

I don't carry a backpack usually. And it is disturbing the amount of casinos and card clubs I am a member of.....

Fags, lighter, student card, ATM card, Credit card, phone (really, really old piece of **** nokia), and some cash.
If I'm leaving the house I'd usually have my bus ticket and student ID in my trouser pockets and iPod in another. Also would have a USB stick with me for college.

Keys, wallet, phone, ipod. Never leave home without them. Normally have some for of cigarettes with me, but I can live without them if space is an issue.

Backpack: Collegey books, novel, pens and shíte, laptop +charger, pens, painkillers of some description.

    I'm very ungentlemanly.

On person: I try and keep my pockets empty cos I'm always losing things in them.
    In bag:
Keys (about 4 with bottle opener)
    Card holder (about 4)
    Ebook Reader or NDS
    Netbook
    a4 pad
pens and pencils of various descriptions (but mostly cheap and easily replaceable)
    Latest MP3 player

More often than not I have a big bag that I stuff the above into one side compartment and fill the rest with:

    Training gear for that day
    Lunch
    Water
    Contact lenses

    Trouser pockets:

Phone - the cheap, indestructable type
Wallet (cash, student card, discount cards)
Keys (home key, digs key, locker key, Mag-lite, bottle opener)
    iPOD - 120GB classic
    Various coins

I hate having anything in my pockets any longer than necessary - for some reason it irritates me. As soon as I reach my destination must remove and leave them on desk/mantlepiece/in bag immediately.

Yeah i understand if your training you obviously need a bag then i even do or i understand students but i'm talking about everyday, like i read some of the things here and in all honestly would you really use those things EVERYDAY, Its a bit of hassle and uncomfortable lugging things around that you might/might not ever use. You'd swear some of these people were going on a camping trip for the few hours they're out of the house!

But thats just my opinion i like to have the least possible items on me only the necessities, i suppose some people like to be prepared!

Yeah i understand if your training you obviously need a bag then i even do or i understand students but i'm talking about everyday

I know what you're saying, I carry SFA on me at all times - if I was going training it'd be a different story.
I also get where Khannie is coming from as I'm also working full time and training ~5 times a week, it feels like I only ever get away from work / home to go training, then straight to sleep.
I can imagine it's a lot worse when you have kids too...

As for man bags mine is a simple MSDN messenger type bag. Use it for work mostly to carry the extra bits needed.
