My girlfriend wants to buy a cross trainer for the spare room.

    Is this one any good?

That crosstrainer looks decent enough. 6 kg flywheel, and plenty of programmes. If you're looking for any machine for training at home, I'd recommend a treadmill more as its more versatile in terms of interval training.
if she has her heart set on a crosstrainer, this one would do the job. make sure you register for any warranty etc.

Just saw this one on adverts.ie and looks like a bargain.

(I'm nothing to do with it.)

The pedals on that york one look very far apart. I never understand that. Your feet generally land relatively close to each other (on the same line that is) when you're running or walking but a lot of cross trainers have a huge gap between your feet. I find it makes for an uncomfortable time.

They have these two new ones at my gym where the action actually brings your foot down and out to the side.

    Mental.

I have been watching people get on them, stay for like a minute then get off and go onto the normal ones.
