Training with a hernia ?

    Hey guys,

I've just gotten back to training after being out for ~2 years with a serious knee injury. I have just been using machines to train my arms/back/abs. Been avoiding the knee as I have a consultant appointment next week and just want to see the lie of the land before I go back to that.

However, I now feel a painful lump protruding from my left thigh, and can only assume it is a hernia due to the sudden heavy lifting. I realise you can't give medical advice, and will be seeing a doctor next week, or may just ask the consultant next week.

Does anyone know if this will set me back a lot ? It's annoying as I've just gotten into a routine after going so long without training and was really enjoying going to the gym every day :(. Will this set me back much/for long ? Can I keep lifting ?

Stop lifting for sure. Had a Hernia (and OP) and left it for years before getting it sorted, and recovery took 6 months due to how bad it had gotten.

This isn't something the forum can advise you on I'm afraid.
