Yeah, I'd say M9 would need about 150. The others are prob for the other redesignated stretches like M2 and M11.

yeah, Tralee people are dangerous alright. You need several thousands loops around it to keep them from using the bypass.:rolleyes:

Enabling Works Package for Metro North, for construction of the Mater Hospital Station "Stop Box" diaphram walls.

Enabling works are currently programmed to begin late this year in advance of main construction commencing 2012, should money be found.

Other enabling works that have been put out to tender as far as I recall include utility diversions near St.Stephen's Green and Heritage Works.

Please don't play it down unnecessarily like that. Money doesn't need to be found. MN will be paid for from 2016 onwards by which time the recession will be a distant memory.
Also I was under the impression the main works were starting in 2011 not 2012.

Neither could I so I went to http://maps.osi.ie/ , clicked search and found a suspicious National school halfway between Cahir and Bansha in a place called "Tankerstown" and just north of it is a crossroads

Back in 1999 they were doing loads of right hand turn lanes on N roads ..maybe that is what they finished.

A poster in the Tipp forum said that the land for this N24 realignment was actually CPOd in the 80s. There's a bit of realignment going on around the country alright. I noticed last May a 1km section of the regional road between Cork and Kinsale was being realigned. Anyway I don't want to drag the thread off-topic with a tangent on realignments.

Thats still being realigned. Slowest 1KM road scheme ever!

^^ Yeah I noticed the R600 had some noticeable work done on one section for a couple hundred meters. It looks immaculate too with the hard shoulder. To me it looked like that scheme was fully finished when I passed last weekend.

good to see this.
I had a close one there at easter with 3 cars PARKED across the dual caraigeway beside other (in driving/ overtaking/ right filter lane) contemplating a maneuvre to turn right across the other carraigeway, and at the same instant a fourth lad doing 30 kmh with a boat trailer in the hard shoulder.

My emergency stop technique came in handy there!
