Biggest idiots in wrestling?

Scott Steiner, what a clown. Whoever said this guy was good on the mic? All he did was bury superstar after superstar with the sole purpose of making himself look good. Samoa Joe and Christian were the two stand outs for me in the above video that illustrates perfectly how much of a muppet Steiner was.

Yes it's entertaining to watch, but only because he makes a holy show of himself. Anyone agree? Or have any opinions on who else is an idiot in pro wrestling? :pac:

as opposed to someone like HHH who buries superstar after superstar BOTH on the mic and in the ring with the sole purpose of making himself look good ;)

Yeah, I don't remember giving HHH any praise. ;)

Are we talking about idiots who blew their spot, or people who we think are idiots due to their politicking, or someone who was just wreckless in the ring?

I will go with New Jack. Horribly wreckless. Complete garbage wrestler who went about legitimately hurting people in order to try get himself over, see the Vito incident in XPW, Gypsy Joe in some hall and most famously the "Mass Transit Incident" in the early 90s to name but 3 of the more famous ones. He also comes across as a complete asshole of a person.

Teddy Hart also springs to mind. How many chances was this guy given, but due to a stinky attitude, he will never amount to anything more than what he is today - an indy spot jock who has a reat future behind him.

I am not sure whether to call Juventud Guerrera an idiot or just a pisshead.

I am sure I could go on for the night.

    Kurt Angle.

If I start explaining why I may never stop typing.

Also if Bubs were here he would not be happy with the OP.

    +1

Jeez, how many times has his attitude gotten in his way of him making the professional leagues?

To be honest you have a point. I hate the eejits who go to wrestling with no other reason but to see themselves on tv. They don't even watch the ring, they watch the screens then ruin everybody elses view by jumping about every time a camera comes near them.

Dammit got there before me gimmick! Couldn't agree more. Highly talented with the right associations in the business. He should be a slam dunk. He's been given multiple opportunities; He's a friggin' idiot. The Hart Dynasty should be heading by that fcukwit!

I'd say that Kurt Angle (and Bret Hart, as well) are the biggest marks in pro-wrestling. Kurt because he's ruined his body because he loves wrestling so much :( (and Bret because he cared more about how his character was portrayed to his home fans more than money)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭Jolt2007

I was going to say Vince Russo, but the idiots are the ones that gave him a job. Russo is a genius managing to get jobs in wrestling and keeping them for so many years.

his recent run would suggest otherwise.

    what do you mean?

(although I was referring to one of Bret's reasons for leaving WWF back in 1997) Everything he did in 2010 was really PG and could've been seen in 1995! (thankfully he didn't do the Back to the Future 3 stunt where he's wearing a metal plate and so is unharmed) :pac::pac: although the booking at WM itself was completely counter-productive...

Ah, would you get out of that OP, Steiner was fantabulous!

I'd say Flair is the biggest idiot going. Just go home, old man. We don't care anymore.

Batista.Something about him annoys me.I think it was the Ric Flair farewell on RAW that started the annoyance.

hmm.. I just feel that this current run is all about money and not about his character. I'm a huge Bret Hart fan, dont get me wrong. Loved his book, and was completely on his side in the whole Michaels thing.

But after watching him on the recent live show in Dublin, he did nothing. Not a word to the fans.. And surely he knows he cant wrestle, I felt the Mania performance was about the payoff, because it wasnt furthering his character at all.

Vince MacMahon has had his moments-
    Max Moon
    Gobbleygooker
    Bastion Booger
All that crap with the RoadWarriors/LOD
    .

I agree here, when I was watching Mania, and we didn't see Bret out for the Hall of Fame lineup, I figured he was getting ready for his match. Then when I saw him come in in his street clothes, I figured it was going to be pretty poor.

If we go down the line of the Gooker and Booger, there is so many others that could be added.

And Hornswoggle. Damn I hate him.

I'm gonna have to say Jeff Hardy. He was pretty much always over with crowds, but his antics, like what's landing him that impending court date, isn't helping him too much.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭mr.mayo

You guys have mentioned most of them, Teddy Hart would probably top my list. He has been given so many chances and he just keeps screwing up, he's a good wrestler but the night he hit that moonsault from the top of the cage without even signalling to the guys who he was supposed to be landing on was pretty much the night his career ended. You just can't trust a guy after he does something like that, no matter how good he is or what his surname is. The guy is a total douche

Jeff Hardy is another name on my list, I've always been a big fan of his and was delighted when he finally won the world title but the amount of suspensions and drug related problems he has had is just ridiculous. When he came back I thought he had put all that behind him but obviously I was wrong, his suspension before WM 24 was laughable - rumour has it that he was supposed to win MITB and join the likes of Cena in that echelon of megastars but then a few weeks before Mania he goes and gets himself suspended. I really couldn't see him winning the big one after that but I'm glad to admit I was wrong. He did eventually make it to the top and did reach megastar status but I'm sure if WWE had to do it all again, he wouldn't be let anywhere near the belt. He left when his contract expired and like 2 weeks later he was busted with a sh1tload of drugs in his house. I love watching him perform but the guy is a complete idiot.

RVD is another one, like Hardy drugs are his main problems. Back in 2002 he was on the verge of becoming the #1 face in the company but through no fault of his own, that was stopped. It's a well known fact that Trips doesn't like him, he simply refused to lay down for him and used his political power to keep RVD down. After years of mid-card work, RVD eventually clawed his way back up to the top, winning the WWE Title on that unforgettable night in the Hammerstein Ballroom. The next thing we hear is that he along with Sabu were found in possession of cannabis, of course he had to drop the title soon after and he wasn't let near it ever again. Again, I love watching him perform but the guy is an idiot

I don't normally laugh at videos of people writhing around in pain, but those guys were such clowns... if they'd gotten themselves killed, to be brutally honest, I wouldn't have much sympathy.

As for 'real' wrestlers, it's Teddy Hart all the way for me. Had all the athletic ability in the world and got a great opportunity, but has consistently fked up in spectacular fashion.

That's true, god love him. Seems like a nice enough chap, but doesn't seem to have two brain cells to rub together. There's a great blooper clip where he's cutting a promo on Hall and Nash (in WCW) and he roars 'I'm twice the man you are, and I've half the brain you do!' Naturally, H&N cracked up.

Still, it's hard to say if the thread is about people who are stupid or acted stupidly. Even though sid isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, I don't think he's fked up on half the scale that other lads have.

Oh, and since it's come to me, another nomination - Scott Hall. Had a great spot, great talent, and (with help) messed it all up.

The angle I was coming from was superstars who have

    1. Wasted their talent (example Teddy Hart) or

    2. Who are just generally reckless in how they behave (example Scott Steiner).

Basically, if you're say "wrestler x because he's bad in the ring/mic", then you've missed the point of the thread.
