Fat is your body's way of storing energy. Your body gets energy from food and if you don't use it all it tends to store it for later. Like a squirrel storing nuts in a tree.

The best way to get rid of fat is to decrease how much energy you are taking in as food and increase how much energy you are using up so that your body is forced to use up its fat reserves for energy.

Basically - eat less, exercise more. Find some physical activity that you'll enjoy and keep up (that requires more than one hand). You'll easily burn off the extra flab.

I wouldn't recommend this for a 14 y/o. As long as his diet isn't crap, he shouldnt be in a calorie deficit since hes still growing.

OP, try to get plenty of exercise, and in your case, going through puberty should help you lose fat/get leaner

You wouldn't recommend he find some physical activity that he enjoys but you would recommend that he "try to get plenty of exercise". Why don't you try to confuse the guy a bit more? Thinking burns calories too.

Judging by his name and age... I reckon he's done that

I dare say he's been at that "sport" for quite a while so it's obviously not helping :)

I think you skimmed my post instead of reading it before criticising it and then said the exact same thing but are too stubborn to admit it.
