I don't suffer from hangovers thankfully, but preperation is the key, i.e. eat before and during a session. Also, drink a pint of water before going to bed.

I honestly find the best way to beat one is to drink litres and litres and litres of fluids, mainly water.

I'd generally drink 5, 6, or 7 litres of fluids after a night out.

    Usually does the trick.
Have to stay active as well though, not too active though.

Drink water between drinks. Have a glass of it by your bed.
And a big dirty fry up in the morning.

A poo, a shower and a fry up.

In that order. Never known to fail.

Dont get the dreaded hangovers myself (thankfully) but I'll say that definitely drink some water and have food before going out, sip water through the night, oh and bring some to bed with you incase you get the dreaded thirst during the night and have to move:(

Have a breakfast with lots of carbs to give you energy, but try keep it healthy...you'll recover quicker;)

    A jog.

If yer lazy, a sauna (and a lot of water).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,838 ✭✭✭✭3hn2givr7mx1sc

Litre of water before bed and a few slices of bread for me.:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,945 ✭✭✭D-Generate

Sex or failing that, a ****. Seriously! An orgasm is a known cure for headaches or at least gives temporary relief.... but by doing it constantly gives permanent relief except for hand cramps.

Also as mentioned, water and then later on a bacon butty sandwich.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,493 ✭✭✭DazMarz

    A prarie oyster:

-One glass, rinsed with olive oil
    -One raw egg
-one large spoon of tomato ketchup
    -pepper
    -salt

Mix the ingredients together in the glass, swallow it in one, and bang... hangover gone.

Swear to God it works. Tastes gank, but works like an absolute charm.

Don't get hangovers or drink very ofter but find that a lot of water over the night helps me in the morning.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 804 ✭✭✭yerayeah

2 litres or so of water before going to sleep is the best way to go about it I think. If I get a hangover I have to eat constantly the next day, my appetite is just ridiculous!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,228 ✭✭✭epgc3fyqirnbsx

    Home made smoothie.
Or, if you can gather the energy, a sauna, steamroom, plunge pool then jacuzzi

Totally agree! I would also add a can of cold coke. HAS to be full coke not diet.

Age is a massive factor, didnt get one hangover before i was 25. Are you under 25?

Cant avoid one myslef but i can limit the effects by drinking plenty of fluids before beer and when i finish drink at least a pint of water before i go to bed

Jump into a large body of cold water. The colder the better. It should be cold enough that you get a shock and when you enter the water. Since this is Ireland the water will be cold enough. So jump in the sea, a river, lake or swimming pool. If you don't have access to a large body of cold water have an ice cold shower. Again it should be cold enough that you gasp in shock and you physcally can't breath out of the shock. Works for me anyway, its like magic.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this is a discussion on hangover cures, not how to drown or get a heart attack:P

Lots of food before and after drinking and lots of water the following day. If I don't have breakfast I'll suffer for the whole day. And if I don't drink enough water I get a really bad case of chapped lips which lasts for days and sometimes start bleeding.

Surely that would just increase the shivers you* get with a hangover?

    *Well, I get them anyway.:o

Right, there are 2 scenarios in my life..(feck, did I spell scenarios right? it's alwas a worry..). Anyhow, if I have a drink the night b4 I have to work I drink lots of water, and hope for an easy drive to work...will eat a banana and have a red bull, but if I,m not working will start off with the remainder of the kebab wit extra chilla sauce that I might find somewhere near my bed, followed by coke from frodge with ice, followed by an icecream, will probably squeeze in a bit of extra sleep, watch stupid crap on tv, have a curry and do ita all again!

Lucozade sport and a breakfast roll. But this only really helps a bit as do most things mentioned. The only way to actually feel right is to go on the beer again the next day.

voddy and coke and a shag/fap

Sleep. If i'm off work the next day i try and stay in bed as long as possible. I guess it's fairly obvious to say i find my hangover much worse when i have to get up early the next day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

For me its one strong coffee with a good fry up with a ltr of OJ ;)
