Audley Harrison -v- Michael Sprott

Audley Harrison admits Friday night's European heavyweight title fight is the last chance to resurrect his career.

The former Olympic champion has failed to impress since turning professional after his gold medal in Sydney and was stopped inside three rounds by Sprott when the pair met in 2007.

But after winning Prizefighter last year, Harrison is ready for one last tilt at the big time.

The 38-year-old told Sky Sports News: "My career is on the line. This is the Olympics - there are no ifs, buts or maybes. You have to go in there, do your job. And I am going to do my job to the best of my ability. I am going to get the victory.

"Losing for me is not an option. That is what my mind is back to, it is not an option. I am definitely going to be victorious, 100 per cent."
But the 35-year-old Sprott inevitably has different ideas.

Sprott, who has spent four weeks sparring with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and his sibling Wladimir, the current IBF, WBO and IBO title holder, said: "He is a nice guy. As a fighter he has got all the skills and stuff but I think sometimes he lacks heart.

"I will end his career. He says if I beat him he's going to retire so I'll make sure he retires this time."

I cant stand Audley but would kind of like to see him in with Haye, would be interesting i feel.. Haye would make him fight, would be a good warm up for a klitscko fight.

Paul, Paul Paul - you know I respect your opinion generally, but although I'd like to see a Haye v Harrison fight, he's nowhere near the same class as Haye is. Harrison was getting schooled in prizefighter before his decent knockout, and Haye's fights will all be PPV and I cant see anyone wanting to pay for a 30 second demolition!

If Harrison wins this, he should look for a fight with herbie hide or someone like that!!

Surely AH cannot be as poor as Ruiz?

I'd like to see the fight. Haye doesn't overly impress me anyway.

Ha Ha, im not saying there in the same class!!

im saying he's a poor mans Klitscko-would give you an indicator of how he might do with 1 of the bro's.. I think his style is enough to make it last a while tbh..

ya never know with ordinary, he's just got no drive to finish so his physical abilities are wasted..

if he fights well he will win easy. but he prob wont an will make hard work of it.

Haye looked uncomfortable on SSN yesterday when asked to comment on Harrison. Bad blood there I feel but that said Haye would knock him out!!!!!!!!! Anyone believe Harrisons claim he is just 2 fights away from a title shot ?

Main Event always starts before some of the others on fight night. Grand if you are watching on tv but if you are there it would kinda suck. The atmosphere really dissipates after it.

Heres another link. Quality one too.

Harrison needs to work the jab. Throwing hardly anything. It's the jab that will win him the rounds and keep him safe too.

Damn! Terrible fight, Audrey was well behind on the scorecard but I have to him his due, that was one hell of a shot. Sprott looked like he was seriously hurt, glad to see him up on his feet again

Audley did'nt even think he had it in him.

I'd have backed a 10 year old to see out that round

If that had been his right I would have said check the glove for lead!

Terrible performance from Audley overall. He was waiting on Sprott for most of the fight and hoping to land a big counter. Sprott put in a good performance. Audley is lucky he wasn't fighting Sosnowski tonight or it would have been the end for him.
