I heard they do that..that they are really rude and don't bother getting back to people for ages. Doubt I got a 2nd interview so I wont be hearing from them for at least 6weeks id say. thats what happened to a girl my friend knows...she went for first round interview and then they didnt contact her for over 6 weeks to tell her she wasnt being called for 2nd round...hhhmmmm..I am sure one would have guessed by then that they werent being called back so why bother email..it just makes the person feel crap after all that time! :(

Usually I'd think I hadn't got anywhere and would have forgotten about my application but I have friends who applied who haven't heard anything yet and someone I know working in the kerry group thinks that they have not even started interviewing for accountants...so who knows?!

That could be very true, they do have a different system for accountancy students. Don't think I will get called anywho. I am doing my MSc and even though they say con their website that they take masters students and they start in september they didnt seem so keen in the interview! ah well!! I believe everything happens for a reason but I have learned a valuable lessons...don't cancel my holidays and travel all the way to belfast for an interview! lol

can you give any tips for the assessments?

Two friends of mine worked with them last year for six months each in finance roles in Tralee and Charleville/Listowel. Even though they both need graduate jobs, they are refusing to apply to put it mildly.

It was on cheese powders, I presume everyone gets the same thing. You can't really prepare for it until you get the full brief, just know a little about cheese flavourings and how they are produced I suppose.

Know a lot about the company, it will be obvious to them if you have an interest in the job if you have your company research done.

    Best of Luck!

Got based up North, starting in a few weeks. In operations as well, heard they are anxious to get people started ASAP. Think there is 1 other graduate going to same site as me.

    Hi Everyone!

I have applied for finance graduate programme in UK&Ireland and will have my first round interview next week, since some of you will already start with the programme I would like to ask if they give you an opportunity to outline your preferences as where you would like to work? I am not fussed about it too much but since I like to travel I guess I would find it a bit difficult to be somewhere in the countryside with no airport near by;] Well and any tips for the interview would be much appreciated! Thank you;]

they are generally ok in terms of locating you, afaik they arent keen on moving ppl too far and try to locate you as close as home to possible (or within decent commuting time)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 eunit3456

thank you very much for the info thesaturdayman! I just heard that apparently all finance graduate programmes are based in tralee, ireland, what for me is way too far and in the middle of nowhere;] I really hope its not true!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 532 ✭✭✭thesaturdayman
