How do you sleep at night??

Seeing as we have another bed thread, I thought I'd create this one out of interest. By the way, there is a point to this. Apparently, your sleeping position says something about your personality.

Foetus
Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax. This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.


Log
Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.


Yearner
People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.


Soldier
Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.


Freefall
Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.


Starfish
Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.

They're pretty brash generalisations of people.

I hop into bed, face towards the left to let me think of the day / tomorrow and then turn to my right when ready to take a trip to bizzaro world.

I usually sleep on my stomach* but wake up on my back.

Usually I would fall asleep in one of two different ways, lying prone with head to one side, arms by sides. Other would be on my side, as described in OP link as "Log".

I however wake up in "Soldier" position :pac:

I get comfy in bed by bending my left leg so that my left foot is tucked under my right knee. I then put my right hand on my belly and my left hand under my head. I usually fall asleep pretty quickly:D

I was actually going to do a thread bout this too! But i've to be up at half 5 so was trying to sleep!!!!

The closest thing on that list to my style is freefall.
But that description is nothing like me

In saying that,i usually end up anywhere in the bed when i wake up-i don't tend to stay in the one spot.

Right side foetal position. I find that if I sleep on my left side, im aware of my heart beat and sometimes I get a minor palpitation which seems to be the body telling me to take my weight off that side! Whats with that!

Thankfully that seems to have abated since i knocked a stone n a half off my lardy ass!

i start off on my left side foetal, then realise, i can't fall asleep on that side :rolleyes:, so i turn to the other side and thats where i wake up. nothing wakes me. and if it does, it dies

Those descriptions are the same hackneyed descriptions that can be applied to face, hand, or favourite colour. They mean NOTHING! Everyone could look at each of those descriptions and take something from them. Personality is not something that is completely pre-determined, it's has much more to do with our upbringing.

Results are fairly close to the original study so far (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3112170.stm) Except there seems to be a higher than normal percentage of freefall sleepers in AH.
