Ive recently decided to go down the fitness road, ive drastically changed my diet, gave up the smokes and drink on the 1st march and have been going to the gym since then.

    I'm 28, male, 5foot8, and 14 stone.

My goal is to first of all lose a couple of stone and try to tone up and then start building muscle.

The instructor in my gym is not very clued up or helpful, when i asked for advice i was told in broken english to run for a few weeks then do weights so i decided to set my own routine, this is what i did for the last month:

    5k on bike
    1k on treadmill
    1k on crosstrainer
    3k on rowing machine

(Been doing this combined 10k for 4 nights a week)

    Diet:

8:00 - Porridge with low fat milk, few brazil nuts & raisins
11:00 - 2 mandarins, 1 banana, tea with low fat milk no sugar
    13:30 - chicken/turkey/ham/tuna on wholewheat bread
16:00 - apple, granola bar, tea
18:30 - dinner usually chicken or steak or fish, with veg
21:00 - banana or orange or grapes
I also drink at least 2ltrs of water throughout the day

Any comments on the above or advice on what i should be doing??

    Thanks
