Losing weight by exercise alone?

I'm wondering if it's possible to lose weight by exercising alone. When I diet and limit my food I tend to get too obsessive about it and I stop eating altogether. I'm still not overweight for my height but in the past year or so I've gained about a stone and when Summer comes (and the Leaving Cert is over) I'd like to lose weight and I'm wondering if an hour of exercise such as swimming or walking a day is enough to shift the extra weight, or would I have to modify my eating habits too?

it will probably work yeah .. your right not to obsess about food intake but that doesnt mean you should eat a lot of crap / processed food either

The very best thing would be to develop lifelong activity and nutrition habits, find a sustainable diet for you, and exercise routines that are both effective and enjoyable.

What's your current nutrition intake like? Are you currently active?

My current nutrition can be divided into day and night. During the day I eat small portions and have a varied diet of very little processed food. I eat proper meals and don't graze or snack much, however in the evening I have a bad habit of eating sweets and junk food or even getting a take away - that evening habit takes place three or four evenings a week. I'm not active at all but I like the outdoors - I just don't see it much this weather because of all the study! I wouldn't like going to the gym and I don't play team sports either but I enjoy getting out all the same.
