Does anyone know if there is a code which allows you to receive delivery reports on vodafone on the iphone? I believe if you put *R* before any message you send on O2, it sends you a delivery report, but is there such a code for Vodafone Ireland? Thanks in advance?!

Have a look at the first or second page on this board - that exact question is asked a couple of times.

after you add the xsellize repository, (cydia.xsellize.com) you have to re-search cydia just type "delivery", you should now have iphone delivery as an option and install,
then go to settings>messages> delivery report "mines set to "flash" you have different options, thats it

2w40cxx.pngjz7611.png yours will say Install instead of Modify, as mines already installed !

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

I got my phone and was trying to set up the delivery reports. I am not sure what to do first. And I have no idea what all that means. Therefore any help or guidance would be really appreciated.

You can't do it as your phone is not jailbroken. You can't jailbreak it until the new jailbreak is released. Its out on the Mac and should be out for the PC soon enough.

Ok, Great. Thanks for your help. Where will I find that then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,739 ✭✭✭Stuxnet

Diana you need a jailbroken/hacked iphone to do this ... see the top of the forum to see how to do it, its not dangerous and anybody non techie can do it

what version of iphone firmware are you on
    check in settings>general>about

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

OP got it yesterday so it would have 3.1.3 on it. The jailbreak for that version will be out soon to use.

The jailbreak teams are waiting for apple to release the next major firmware update, shouldn't be long now, apple holding an event on Thursday, we might learn something then !

If you want deliery reports non jailbroken Iphone then just type *R* at the start of your message. You get back a text with some details on it. You will have to do this with every txt that you send.

Why not? are you using a mac or a linux OS?

Mac has ifuntastic which will install ringtones and in linux you can use audacity and gtkpod or an older version of amarok.

If you are using windows then there is no reason iringer won't install.
As for your opinion that the iphone is a toy.................well that is your opinion.

ifuntastic does cost, only $15, but it does look like a Swiss army knife for the iPhone.

Another quick question, is there anyway of finding out what time messages have been sent/received at? I know that you get the time if there has been a large interval between two messages, or else you can find out the time of the latest message, but I mean just in general? Thanks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,267 ✭✭✭Elessar

The problem you guys are having is that the xsellize repo has an older version of iPhonedelivery that doesn't work with 3.1.3

There is a new version (0.3.5) that works fine, I just installed it.

To get it add the repo iphonedelivery.advinux.com/cydia

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭lisa_eire

I'm in work but one of the other IT guys put Mac filtering on out wifi and I'm too lazy to go downstairs with a laptop and add in my iPhone. Point is, I shouldn't have to, o2 never limited my access.

no works for 3.x also, i had it on my 3gs, are you adding the correct repository, xsellize doesn't have it anymore, http://iphonedelivery.advinux.com/cydia
there is a bug in 4.01 tho, where you cant change the sound like you can with older apple firmwares, ive filed a bug report, there's no reason why it shouldn't work for you, unless vf have interfered somehow ??

I don't know.. any time I try to add the repo it looks like it's downloading.... get as far as 'downloading packages' but then I get the following error message-

'could not find repository- the indicated repository could not be found.... with lots of other blah blah'

would put a screen shot if I knew how to!

Worked fine for me yesterday. Have you tried it on Wifi or 3G? If you're with 3 they're blocking random stuff so could be an issue.

To take a screenshot just press your Home + Lock button together. Then you can either email the photo from your camera roll or browse to it with a USB cable and windows explorer.

In case people were thinking of readding this app on iOS5 - it seems to be making the messages app crash now.
