Gyms in north Dublin doing cheap membership or 3/6 month memberships

    Hi all,

Basically, I'm broke but need a gym to help me to continue losing weight. Exercising at home just isn't cutting it and I love going to the gym, I always work out more there.

Does anyone know of any super cheap deals out now for memberships? I heard Northwood were doing €150 membership a few months ago but I was broke at the time.

Alternatively, does anyone know any gyms doing 3 or 6 month memberships? I have emailed places but not yet received responses. Ideally, I'm looking for something on the 27 or 17A bus lines or something in the north side of town or Clare Hall. I've emailed Total Fitness and a few others but as yet have received no responses.

    Thanks all

It might be a bit out of your area, but check out Image gym in Swords. They do 3, 6, and 12 month memberships, also pay as you go. And it's a good gym.

There's a gym at Santry Stadium which does short term membership as well.

The Regency Hotel on the Swords Road have 12 month membership for €400 with no joining fee. It's not the best gym in the world (many things irritate me) but it's good value for that and the staff are very nice.

If you can hop on the 27, I'd definitely take a look at Informed Performance in Glasnevin. Why pay 150 for 3 months in some packed commercial gym when you can pay a little more, and get a quite a bit more bang for your buck.

The 27 goes nowhere near Glasnevin. It goes up the Malahide Road to Clarehall.

    Are you training with there?..

An absolutely superb gym and one I'd recommend in a heart beat.

OP would you consider one of the fwe training groups which meet in parks around Dublin?.

Not right now, but I've been a member there on and off for years. Crappy shower, but excellent staff who really know their stuff, and who will spot you if necessary. Very rare these days! Also, they will negotiate on price if you want an unusual membership.

Damnit, I was meant to write 17A (the other bus he mentioned). Well spotted, sir :p
