Ryevita Vs Sweet Potatp Vs Brown Rice

    Hello all,

I've recently started to reduce the amount of processed grains I eat. I haven't been having any white bread, rice, pasta, etc. for the last few years, but still ate a fair amount of wholegrain brown bread, brown rice, wholewheat pasta, etc.
In an attempt to reduce the amount of processed food I consume, I've eliminated all bread and pasta, but have been sticking with brown rice (70g cooked), sweet potato (100g), and ryevita (2 slices), and, of course, oats.
For the time being I don't intend on going low carb (possibly in the future), but was wondering if these carbs are on the healthy side of things?

Generally, the less processing, the better. So sweet potato wins hands down over Ryvita. Concentrate on all the vegetables, beans, pulses, whole fruit etc, and try to avoid anything that has spent time in a factory.

So how do brown rice and rolled oats rank on the 'processed' scale? Would steel-cut be better?

I don't think there is that much in it. If steel cut is the same price as as easy to get, then I'd buy them. If you have to special order them at a huge price, not worth it.

    Brown rice is reasonable.
