Getting the best out of skype on Chorus/NTL wifi?

Right, I have the chorus 15mb BB cable package and for stuff like streaming/gaming/dling it's been pretty solid so far, good speeds and stable. But in skype, for some reason, it really function very well. My connection is usually in the red/orange and the call quality is never more than fair. Is there anything I can do…

Is there anything I can do with the router settings to make it run better, any ports I can forward or open or something so it actually feels like 15mb and not 1mb?
