Vote Here For Album of The Week

Yes folks, back by popular demand, it's the Album of The Week. Loosely-based on (okay, entirely copied from) the previous thread, the rules are fairly simple:
    • One person, one vote per week. You can either quote someone else's nomination or you can post a different album.
    • You can vote for the same album each week if you like but you still only get one vote per week.
    • The new album of the week will be revealed each Monday. If there is a tie in the voting I will have the deciding vote.
    • Any albums that were previously voted as albums of the week may not be voted for. The full list is below. Note that this just means the album can't be voted for. If the band in question released more than one album then you can simply vote for a different album by the same band.
    • Any votes from one post wonder accounts won't be counted so no registering new accounts to push up the number of votes for your chosen album.
    • Please only post votes on this thread. Discussions on any of the albums nominated don't belong here.
    • The moderation team reserves the right to discount any vote and their decision is final.

I'll get the ball rolling so with an album I rate very highly and I would recommend to anybody and would hope they listened to it. :)

    Whoa that's a fairly good list, I must say I'm surprised.:pac:

Anyway, I was just going to plug Between The Buried and Me again but I seem to have a recent obsession with ISIS.

ISIS - In The Absence of Truth.
Underrated album it seems, but still some of their best work. Highly recommended for anybody who likes post-rock or post-metal.

Well, seeing as Insomnium are back as my favourite band atm for about the umpteenth time, I guess it's only right I nominate their first album, In the Halls of Awaiting. For anyone who considers themselves a fan of melodic death/doom metal, or even melodic metal in general, I can't recommend this album enough.

We've a tie in votes this week for Black Clouds & Silver Linings by Dream Theater and Slow, Deep, And Hard by Type O Negative so I'm going to change my vote to the Dream Theater album. The discussion thread will be up shortly.

I'm hoping there will be some actual discussion of the album this time unlike last week!

    Alcest - Écailles De Lune

This album just came out last month, and it really is some phenomenal stuff. Brilliant post-rock with a bit of a black metal aesthetic, and swapping between the two has never sounded cleaner. Their last album Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde was a great post-rock/shoegaze album and I was a bit apprehensive when I heard they were going back to their roots a bit with the black metal but this album surprised me, it's even better than Souvenirs.

One of, if not the best release of the year.
