Need help coding cross-browser css

I'm fairly inexperienced with CSS, and am trying to pull something a bit messy off. Building a site at www.quickcms.ie/marywrynne/index.html, and it's showing up fine on chrome/safari/firefox but no luck on internet explorer. I figure it's a padding problem. Can anyone suggest specific steps I can take to sort this out?…

Fix your html validation errors and see if that helps.
Also review the CSS errors.
